Generating the mind of enlightenment. When washing hands, the Bodhisattva generates the thought, 'May all sentient beings, for the sake of being grasped and held, be endowed with auspicious hands.' When washing the face, the Bodhisattva generates the thought, 'May all sentient beings be completely free from extreme afflictions and attain the complete purity of all Dharma doors.' When taking a staff, the Bodhisattva generates the thought, 'May all sentient beings perform offerings and become guides.' When taking a begging bowl, the Bodhisattva generates the thought, 'May all sentient beings be worthy of offerings from all beings and become vessels.' When manifestly entering a place of practice, the Bodhisattva generates the thought, 'May all sentient beings incline towards the unlocalized and manifestly turn towards the practice of the Buddhas.' When entering a path, the Bodhisattva generates the thought, 'May all sentient beings go outwardly without exception and enter the path of the Buddhas.' When seeing a precipice, may the Bodhisattva comprehend that all sentient beings realize the absence of obscurations, abandon all sinful dharmas, and be fully devoted to virtuous dharmas, thus generating the aspiration. When seeing a chariot, may the Bodhisattva make all sentient beings accord with the profound dharma that belongs to the three times, past, present, and future, thus generating the aspiration. When seeing a pillar, may the Bodhisattva make all sentient beings be free from anger and resentment, and be free from pride, strife, and discrimination, thus generating the aspiration. When seeing a forest, may the Bodhisattva make all sentient beings become places to be revered by gods and humans alike, thus generating the aspiration. When seeing a mountain, may the Bodhisattva make all sentient beings fully attain what is difficult to attain and without density, and be manifestly superior through all roots of virtue, thus generating the aspiration.
