Some yakshas became disbelievers. Some intermediate yakshas became believers in the Blessed One. Some inferior yakshas became disbelievers in the Blessed One. Some inferior yakshas became believers in the Blessed One. What is the reason why some yakshas do not believe in the Blessed One? Because the Blessed One taught the Dharma of abstaining from killing, taught the Dharma of abstaining from taking what is not given, taught the Dharma of abstaining from sexual misconduct, taught the Dharma of abstaining from false speech, and taught the Dharma of abstaining from intoxicating drinks. Those yakshas were displeased with the monks abstaining from killing, displeased with abstaining from taking what is not given, displeased with abstaining from sexual misconduct, displeased with abstaining from false speech, and displeased with abstaining from intoxicating drinks. They were displeased and unwilling to do so. How many disciples of the Blessed One enter the solitary forest path, where they lie down, sit, and rely? Without sound or music, they dwell in solitude, free from the disturbance of noise. The practitioners live harmoniously with each other. There, the abode of fierce yakshas exists. In order to make those who do not believe in the teachings of the Blessed One have faith, one should learn from the Blessed One and request the Willow Palace to protect them. To protect monks, nuns, laymen, or laywomen, to keep them safe, unharmed, and to dwell in peace and well-being. I grant the monks assistance in a way that I will not speak. Then, the Great King Vaishravana, knowing that assistance has been granted, prayed at that time: May the Willow Palace protect them! To the one with eyes and splendor, I prostrate to the one who sees all. To the one who cherishes all beings, I prostrate to the one with a crown. To the one who has compassion for the helpless, I prostrate to the one who protects all. To the one who destroys the hosts of demons, I prostrate to the one who destroys samsara.

The one who liberates from all suffering, who excellently teaches the Dharma, who has become the protector of the world, who sees things as they are, they are without deceit. The great fearless one, whoever pays homage to Gautama, is beneficial to gods and humans. Endowed with knowledge and feet, is the great fearless one, the great wheel of the sun, where does it set and rise? Where the sun sets, there it turns into night. Where the sun rises, there it is called day. The ocean with a very deep depth, the essence of its water is very good. Thus, what arises there, is like the essence of the ocean's water. Here is the eastern direction, to the beings of this direction, it is said thus. That direction is fully protected, the great king is endowed with great fame, he is the lord of the Gandharvas, named King Dhritarashtra. The Gandharvas are surrounded by retinues, making them happy with songs and dances. His sons are many, their names are heard as one, named Indra, endowed with great power, he is ninety-one. He also sees the Buddha, and the Buddha of the solar race, to the great fearless one, I pay homage from afar. Man, you are all-knowing, homage to you, man! Excellent man, homage to you! Whoever are the Yakshas who do evil, the deceitful flesh-eaters behind the back, and those who are attached to killing, those who destroy all beings.
