If he stays at home, he will become a Chakravartin king. If he leaves home and becomes a renunciate, he will become a Buddha. There is no turning back in the world, and he will not be born again by staying at home. Furthermore, as soon as the Bodhisattva entered his mother's womb, in that very instant, all the ten thousand world realms were completely shaken. They were completely and violently shaken. They completely made sounds. The thirty-two marks became previous signs. In the ten thousand surroundings, immeasurable light spread and remained. The earth quaked. The rivers stopped flowing. The water of the great ocean became sweet. All places were covered with five-colored lotuses. The flowers that grew from the plains and water opened. On the trunks of the trees were trunk lotuses. On the branches were branch lotuses. On the vines opened vine lotuses. Piercing through the plains and rocks, rising seven upon seven, emerged plants called Dan-dra lotuses. Lotuses hung down from the sky. Everywhere it rained flowers. The sound of divine music echoed in the sky. All of the ten thousand world realms were filled with flowers, incense, and perfume, becoming exceedingly beautiful. Thus, from the moment the Bodhisattva entered the womb, four sons of gods, holding swords in their hands, guarded the Bodhisattva and the Bodhisattva's mother to avert harm. The Bodhisattva's mother did not generate desire for men, and she obtained wealth and fame. Happy and without fatigue in her body, the Bodhisattva, having entered the womb, was seen like a clear jewel strung on a red thread. Therefore, the womb into which the Bodhisattva entered, like a stupa, could not be touched or enjoyed by other beings. Therefore, the Bodhisattva's mother, seven days after the Bodhisattva's birth, would pass away and be reborn in Tushita. Other women give birth in less than ten months, or more than ten months, or sitting, or lying down. The Bodhisattva's mother was not like that; she protected the Bodhisattva in her womb for ten months and gave birth standing up. This is the nature of all Bodhisattva's mothers. The goddess Maya also, like butter in a container, nurtured the Bodhisattva in her womb for ten months, and when the womb was full, she would go to her relatives' city, she said to the great king Shuddhodana. When other beings come out of their mother's womb, they are covered in filth and are disgusting. The Bodhisattva is not like that.
