for that reason. Why is that? World Honored One, thus, suchness is the Tathagata itself. However, suchness does not recognize the Tathagata, and the Tathagata also does not recognize suchness. Why is that? World Honored One, thus, in the ultimate truth, suchness is not a real entity, and the Tathagata is also not a real entity. World Honored One, therefore, I do not think, 'The Tathagata is my Tathagata.' World Honored One, the so-called Tathagata is just a name. In what Tathagata should I think, 'The Tathagata is my Tathagata?' The World Honored One said: Manjushri, do you have doubts about the Tathagata? Manjushri said: World Honored One, no. World Honored One, if the Tathagata appears, or the Tathagata enters Nirvana, or if there is a small part of the Tathagata that is perfectly accomplished, then I would have doubts about that. After he said this, the World Honored One said to Manjushri, who had become a youth: Manjushri, do you not think that the Tathagata appears? Manjushri said: World Honored One, if there is appearance in the realm of Dharma, then I would think that the Tathagata appears. The World Honored One said: Manjushri, do you not believe that Buddhas, World Honored Ones, as many as the sands of the Ganges, have entered Nirvana? Manjushri said: World Honored One, are the Buddhas, World Honored Ones, not in the inconceivable realm, where the realm is one? The World Honored One said: Manjushri, it is so, it is so. The Buddhas, World Honored Ones, are in the inconceivable realm, where the realm is one. Manjushri said: World Honored One, do they dwell now? The World Honored One said: Manjushri, it is so, it is so. Manjushri said: World Honored One, therefore, all those Buddhas, World Honored Ones, as many as the sands of the Ganges,

Did not transcend suffering. What is the reason for that? World Honored One, the Buddhas, World Honored Ones, are for the sake of being one realm in an inconceivable realm like this. Inconceivability itself is neither birth nor cessation. World Honored One, therefore, when the World Honored One himself attains complete enlightenment, those who become Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas in the time when there was nothing, are also enlightened in the same way. What is the reason for that? Because in the inconceivable there is no such thing as past, future, or present. World Honored One, therefore, if someone thinks like this: The Tathagata was born! From thinking to completely liberating from suffering, the existence of the world for those people is a mistake. World Honored One, those people are spreading false notions about the existence of the world. After saying this, the World Honored One said to Manjushri, the youthful one: Manjushri, therefore, you should speak of these inconceivable, immeasurable, countless, and beyond thought of the Tathagata to the Tathagata or the non-retrogressing Bodhisattva Mahasattva or the Arhat who has exhausted the outflows! What is the reason for that? Because after hearing this, these people will neither praise nor abandon it. What is the reason for that? Because this is inconceivable, immeasurable, and countless. Manjushri said: World Honored One, who would praise or abandon this, since all dharmas are inconceivable and immeasurable? The World Honored One said: Manjushri, just as the Tathagata is countless, are ordinary beings also countless? Manjushri said: World Honored One, ordinary beings are also countless in the same way. The World Honored One said: Manjushri, that is so. What is the reason for that? Because all thoughts are countless. Manjushri said: World Honored One, then how does the Tathagata think?

Just as it is inconceivable, so too are individual beings inconceivable. For what reason did the Blessed One speak in this way? Blessed One, are individual beings themselves not also inconceivable? For what reason is that? Blessed One, it is because all dharmas are inconceivable. Blessed One, if some enter for the sake of nirvana, Blessed One, those will become wretched. For what reason is that? Because whatever is inconceivable is itself nirvana. Blessed One, for that reason there is no difference in the inconceivable. Blessed One, those who say, 'These are the dharmas of individual beings, these are the dharmas of the noble ones,' to those, first serve and honor the virtuous friends, and then one will come to know, 'These are the dharmas of individual beings, these are the dharmas of the noble ones.' I would say these words to them. After speaking thus, the Blessed One said to Manjushri, the youth, 'Manjushri, do you regard the Tathagata as the supreme among all sentient beings?' Manjushri replied, 'Blessed One, if there is any being here that is fully established as a sentient being, then I would regard the Tathagata as the supreme among all sentient beings.' The Blessed One said, 'Manjushri, do you regard the Tathagata as possessing inconceivable dharmas?' Manjushri replied, 'Blessed One, if there is anything that possesses conceivable dharmas, then I would regard the Tathagata as possessing inconceivable dharmas.' The Blessed One said, 'Manjushri, do you think that one should say, "These Shravakas have been tamed by the Tathagata"?' Manjushri replied, 'Blessed One, if someone were to tame the inconceivable realm, then I would say that these Shravakas have been tamed by the Tathagata.' Blessed One, the arising of the Buddha is neither beneficial nor harmful to anyone. For what reason is that? Because this realm is abiding, and this realm is unmixed.
