That is to say, if the king of mountains were as large as Mount Sumeru, Subhuti, what do you think? Is that body large? Subhuti replied: World Honored One, that body is large. Sugata, that body is large. Why is that? Because the Tathagata said that thing is non-existent, therefore it is called a body. The Tathagata said that thing is non-existent, therefore it is called a body. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, what do you think? If the sands of the Ganges River were as many as there are Ganges Rivers, would those sands be many? Subhuti replied: World Honored One, the Ganges River itself is already many, let alone those sands. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, you should believe, you should understand. If there are as many worlds as there are sands in the Ganges River, and a man or woman fills them completely with the seven jewels, and gives them as alms to the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Enlightened Buddhas, Subhuti, what do you think? Does that man or woman generate more merit from that basis? Subhuti replied: World Honored One, much. Sugata, much, that man or woman generates more merit from that basis. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, if someone fills that many worlds completely with the seven jewels, and gives them as alms to the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Enlightened Buddhas, it is not as much as if someone, from this Dharma discourse, even just upholds a four-line verse, and extensively and correctly reveals it to others, that person generates immeasurably more merit from that basis. Moreover, Subhuti, whatever place, from this Dharma discourse, even just recites or speaks a four-line verse, that place becomes a stupa for the world with gods, humans, and asuras. Whoever takes this Dharma discourse, holds it, reads it, understands it

What need to mention properly attending to it, which would be even more wonderful? In that place, the Teacher also abides, and other places of the Guru also abide. Having spoken thus, the Venerable Subhuti asked the Blessed One: "Blessed One, what is the name of this Dharma discourse? How should it be held?" Having asked thus, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Subhuti: "Subhuti, this Dharma discourse is called the Perfection of Wisdom. Hold it thus. Why is that? Subhuti, the Perfection of Wisdom held by the Tathagata is itself non-perfection. Therefore, it is called the Perfection of Wisdom. Subhuti, what do you think? Is there anything in the Dharma spoken by the Tathagata?" Subhuti replied: "Blessed One, there is nothing at all in the Dharma spoken by the Tathagata." The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, what do you think? Are the dust particles in the three-thousand great-thousand world realms numerous?" Subhuti replied: "Blessed One, those dust particles are very numerous. Sugata, they are very numerous. Why is that? Blessed One, that which is called dust particles, the Tathagata has spoken of as non-dust. Therefore, it is called dust particles. That which is called world realm, the Tathagata has spoken of as non-realm. Therefore, it is called world realm." The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, what do you think? Can the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, be seen by the thirty-two marks of a great being?" Subhuti replied: "Blessed One, no. Why is that? The thirty-two marks of a great being spoken of by the Tathagata are spoken of as non-marks. Therefore, they are called the thirty-two marks of the Tathagata." The Blessed One said: "Furthermore, Subhuti, if a man or a woman fills bodies as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River

Better than giving away countless things is that someone from this Dharma teaching, even if they hold a four-line verse and teach it to others, the merit they generate from that basis is immeasurably greater than the former. Then, the venerable Subhuti, moved by the power of the Dharma, shed tears. After wiping away his tears, he said to the Blessed One, "O Blessed One, it is wonderful that this Dharma teaching is spoken by the Tathagata! O Sugata, it is wonderful! O Blessed One, since I have gained wisdom, I have never heard this Dharma teaching before. O Blessed One, those beings who generate true understanding in this sutra teaching will be endowed with great wonder! Why is that? O Blessed One, because what is called true understanding is actually without understanding. Therefore, the Tathagata said, 'True understanding, true understanding.' O Blessed One, my contemplation and devotion to this Dharma teaching is not my own devotion. O Blessed One, in the later age, in the last five hundred years of the degenerate age, those beings who take, hold, read, and fully comprehend this Dharma teaching will be endowed with great wonder! Furthermore, O Blessed One, those beings will not engage in the perception of self, will not engage in the perception of sentient beings, will not engage in the perception of life, and will not engage in the perception of person. Why is that? O Blessed One, because what is called the perception of self, the perception of sentient beings, the perception of life, and the perception of person is actually without perception. Why is that? Because the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are for the sake of being separated from all perceptions." After he said this, the Blessed One said to the venerable Subhuti, "Subhuti, it is just so, it is just so. Subhuti, those beings who do not fear, do not dread, and do not become frightened in this sutra teaching will be endowed with great wonder! Why is that? Subhuti, this supreme perfection of wisdom is spoken by the Tathagata,
