That which is called the ground of a Bodhisattva is not merely the action of words. Words cannot enable one to fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The action of words does not cause one to attain enlightenment and the dharmas of a Bodhisattva. Those who subdue all sentient beings with excellent skill may engage in enlightenment, but they do not know or comprehend it. Therefore, they are not to be called Bodhisattvas. Why is that? It is because sentient beings do not know the absence of sentient beings. If they were to know in that way, then my conduct would make them become the lineage of Bodhisattvas. All sentient beings, due to inversion, do not fully understand their own conduct, their own realm, and the realm of their own conduct. If they were to fully understand their own conduct, then they would no longer engage in discrimination and conduct towards anything. Due to discrimination and conduct, all ordinary individuals aim at and engage in what is not true, yet they presumptuously think that they are aiming at enlightenment. For those who engage in aiming and engage in discrimination, where is enlightenment? Where are the dharmas of a Bodhisattva? Those who fully understand such a dharma do not again engage in what is not true, and they do not again cling to any dharma. Therefore, the absence of conduct is called the conduct of a Bodhisattva, and a Bodhisattva does not engage in thought and discrimination. For one who has no thought, there is no conduct whatsoever. For one who has no discrimination, there is no meaning of conduct whatsoever. All the conduct of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is conducted without discrimination, and all is without clinging and not connected to an aim. One who fully understands all dharmas in that way no longer has an aim, or engages in discriminating conduct, or has no conduct. That is called the conduct of Bodhisattvas in the manner of no conduct. One who subdues with excellent skill, in that way, is engaging in the conduct of a Bodhisattva. One who subdues with excellent skill, whoever comprehends the dharma in that way and fully

Because of realizing that, he is called a Bodhisattva. Because he has relinquished the concept of sentient beings, the term "no sentient beings" is a technical term for Bodhisattva. Why is that? Because he knows that all sentient beings are not real, all sentient beings are not sentient beings, all sentient beings are inverted sentient beings, all sentient beings are conceptually constructed sentient beings, all sentient beings are sentient beings that aim at non-existence, all sentient beings are sentient beings because their own actions are improper, and all sentient beings are sentient beings because of ignorance and action. Why is that? Because all sentient beings manifest those dharmas that do not exist, therefore all sentient beings are called sentient beings because of ignorance and action. What are the non-existent dharmas? There are no dharmas such as "I," "mine," or "is mine." If some dharma were to become "I," "mine," or "is mine," then all sentient beings would become real. Suppressing with great force, just like this, because there is no dharma such as "I," "mine," or "is mine," therefore sentient beings are not real, and all sentient beings are called all sentient beings because of ignorance and action. Suppressing with great force, for anything, there is no dharma of sentient beings such as "I," "mine," or "is mine," and because it does not exist, sentient beings are called unreal. What is called "unreal" is a technical term for "no sentient beings." Just as clinging to the idea that sentient beings are unreal, similarly, sentient beings are also called unreal. Suppressing with great force, what is called "unreal" has nothing real in it, nor has anything real arisen. All dharmas are also unreal and have not arisen. Therefore, being particularly attached to unreal sentient beings is bondage, so aiming at the unreal is called sentient beings. Those actions, because of understanding what one is called a Bodhisattva, but not understanding one's own actions, because one has not fully understood, sentient beings are unreal.
