Weak in diligence, deficient in mindfulness, not possessing right knowledge, speaking falsely and garrulously, fond of arguing, concealing and hiding sinful deeds in their hearts, with strong attachment, hatred, and ignorance, enveloped by the shell of ignorance, oppressed by the darkness of delusion, behaving in accordance with the retinue of demons, there will be opponents to this profound Dharma treasure of the Vinaya. Unkind individuals will appear. World Honored One, we, the Tathagatas, have accumulated roots of virtue for countless hundreds of thousands of millions of eons, and we are delighted to uphold and recite this unsurpassed Dharma treasure. Those who seek this Dharma and wish to study it in those final times, who are without deceit and are upright, without falsehood, who do not abandon it even for their lives, who do not oppose such Dharma, who do not renounce this category of Dharma, who do not turn their backs on this category of Dharma, will be exceedingly rare. For the sake of those, I will perform beneficial deeds and bestow joy, and for such Dharma, I will truly praise and rejoice. Then, at that time, the World Honored One blessed this exposition of the abode of Dharma, the Perfection of Wisdom, and blessed this category of Dharma in order to sever the snares of the evil demons. Those Bodhisattvas who also extensively and truthfully proclaim to others will overcome the hordes of demons and their retinues. Those who uphold this Dharma discourse, recite it, and also extensively and truthfully proclaim it to others, they will conquer the evil hordes of demons and their retinues. Then, the Bhagavan spoke these words to the Bodhisattva Mightily Subduing: "It is so, it is so. Mightily Subduing, it is so, just as those sons of gods have spoken. Mightily Subduing, the Tathagata has set the boundary of the evil ones for this Dharma discourse. Mightily Subduing, whatever son or daughter of good family upholds this Dharma discourse, holds it, recites it, and also extensively and truthfully proclaims it to others, they will not become the realm of activity for the evil ones. Those sons and daughters of good family will not be overcome by the evil ones. Those who uphold this Dharma discourse, hold it, recite it, and also extensively and truthfully proclaim it to others, they will crush the demons and adversaries, they will be victorious in battle. Mightily Subduing, this Dharma discourse will not fall into the hands of beings who are completely afflicted and bound by the snare of Mara. Mightily Subduing, this is for those who are conscious, not for those who are unconscious. Mightily Subduing, for example, whatever elephant is conscious and whatever horse is conscious, those will not be fully used by the kings of the regions. They will also not be seen by violent people. Mightily Subduing, such a conscious elephant and a conscious horse, the wheel-turning king approaches to see, and because they appear for their enjoyment and service and to be used, therefore they will become the possessions of the wheel-turning kings. Therefore, such a category of Dharma is put into practice for the enjoyment of sentient beings with consciousness. Subduing with supreme power, for example, the Naga king Nyer-tsi (藏文), the Naga king Rab-gnas (藏文), and the son of the Naga king Sa-srung (藏文), etc., they do not approach for the enjoyment of humans, they do not approach to be seen by humans, nor do they approach for the use and enjoyment of others. Those Naga kings approach for the enjoyment of the conscious gods. Just as the king of the gods, Indra, arranges and goes, so too do those Naga kings make such arrangements and approach for enjoyment. Similarly, subduing with supreme power, this category of Dharma is like this: the lords of men, conscious people, reading, speaking, widely proclaiming, approaching for use and enjoyment, this category of Dharma is their great arrangement, great prosperity, and becomes the light of the Dharma. They will experience the seven joys of the Dharma in this category of Dharma. If they hold onto even one aspect from this category of Dharma, they will also become extremely joyful, what to say of completely writing, holding, upholding, offering, and prospering it? This category of Dharma will seize the lords of men and conscious people. This is not the realm of the unconscious. Subduing with supreme power, I have spoken these words in order to cut off all doubts. When this category of Dharma was proclaimed, countless immeasurable Bodhisattvas obtained forbearance of the Dharma of non-arising. Countless immeasurable beings generated the mind of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, and the Thus-Gone One has declared that they will definitely become Buddhas. After the Blessed One had spoken thus, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the one who subdues with supreme power, and the fourfold assembly, gods, humans, and asuras.
