This is to explain the definite realization of the wisdom that transcends the world. It is taught that the realm of Nirvana, which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme, does not abide in a place, nor does it abide in a direction. What is the Prajnaparamita (Perfection of Wisdom) for that which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme? That which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme, the Prajnaparamita, has neither this shore nor the other shore. That which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme, if one were to fixate on this shore or the other shore in the Prajnaparamita, then if the Tathagata were to explain the Prajnaparamita as this shore or the other shore, that which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme, the Prajnaparamita, does not fixate on this shore, therefore the other shore does not exist either, but nevertheless, that which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme, what is called Prajnaparamita is the other shore of all dharmas. Therefore, it is called Prajnaparamita, but it is not as it is spoken. That which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme, the Prajnaparamita is not closely associated with words and deeds; the Prajnaparamita is inexpressible. If all dharmas are understood in this way, then it is thoroughly understood as it is, and there will be no contradiction. Why is that? Because there is nothing to be understood in it, and there is nothing to be realized either. The equality of understanding and realization is enlightenment (Bodhi); understanding all dharmas is called enlightenment. How does one understand all dharmas? There is no enlightenment in this, there is nothing to be understood in this. Why is that? That which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme, if one were to fixate on enlightenment, then one would also fixate on enlightenment in enlightenment. That which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme, there is no enlightenment in enlightenment; in this way, how should this enlightenment be manifestly and completely awakened? Without understanding and without realization, it is called subsequent realization, but it is not as it is spoken. All dharmas are neither understood nor realized; dharma does not exist by its own nature. Such understanding is called enlightenment. That which completely overcomes with the power of the supreme,

The Thus-Gone One has not perceived enlightenment, and the Thus-Gone One has not cognized enlightenment. Enlightenment is not to be cognized, nor is it to be fully cognized. The Thus-Gone One has not known or generated enlightenment. Enlightenment is unborn and unmanifest. Enlightenment belongs to no one, and there is no being or designation of being in enlightenment. If there is no being or designation of being, how can it be said, 'This is a bodhisattva, this is the perfection of wisdom of a bodhisattva'? Overpowering completely with great force, there is no enlightenment in enlightenment, and there is no being in enlightenment. This enlightenment is utterly transcendent. This enlightenment is unborn. This enlightenment is unmanifest. This enlightenment is without characteristics. There is no being in it, and it is not perceived. Enlightenment is not designated by beings, but understanding without beings is called enlightenment. Whoever knows that enlightenment is not a being is called a bodhisattva. Why? Overpowering completely with great force, a bodhisattva is not generated by the concept of a being, but because the concept of a being is completely destroyed, he is called a bodhisattva. But it is not as it is said. Why? A bodhisattva is not to be spoken of, and a bodhisattva is separate from the nature of a being. Enlightenment is separate from conceiving of enlightenment as a being. Whoever knows enlightenment in this way is called a bodhisattva. How does one know enlightenment? This enlightenment is utterly transcendent. This enlightenment is unconditioned. This enlightenment is unborn and unceasing. Enlightenment is not known by enlightenment. Enlightenment is not to be cognized, nor is it to be fully cognized, nor is it to be designated. The unmanifest is called enlightenment. Because of non-discrimination and the cutting off of discrimination, whoever understands these, whoever fully understands, is therefore called a bodhisattva. But it is not as it is said.
