Apart from the great non-returning beings and those non-returning ones who possess perfect views, there are no other companions. Even those who possess perfect views and practice this Dharma will have doubts. Shariputra, Bodhisattvas without doubt, and those who have realized their bodies, will attain forbearance in this Dharma. Shariputra, ordinary people are not like that. Shariputra, this teaching of the Perfection of Wisdom will not fall into the hands of sentient beings who are devoted to the inferior. Shariputra, this teaching of the Perfection of Wisdom will fall into the hands of those sentient beings who possess completely pure roots of virtue and have paid homage to many Buddhas. This teaching of the Perfection of Wisdom will fall into the hands of those sentient beings who have generated roots of virtue, possess virtuous thoughts, have made special offerings to the Buddhas, the Bhagavad-Tathagatas, have planted seeds for enlightenment, have entered the vehicle of the Buddhas, dwell near the Buddhas, the Bhagavad-Tathagatas, and ask questions properly. This teaching of the Perfection of Wisdom will fall into the hands of those who have attained forbearance, are close to forbearance, and those who have attained forbearance. Those who have been prophesied will quickly realize the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, except by the power of aspiration. Those who have not been prophesied will quickly receive manifest prophecy. Shariputra, if any sentient beings whose roots of virtue have not fully matured hear this Sutra in their ears, they should also be known as those who will be prophesied. What need is there to mention those who find this Sutra, write it down, hold it, recite it, memorize it, and extensively explain it to others? Shariputra, if any sentient beings whose roots of virtue have not fully matured listen to, write down, read, and memorize this Sutra, it is not possible. Shariputra, this Dharma category will fall into the hands of those sentient beings whose roots of virtue are blazing. Shariputra, you should believe.

O! You should understand it. Those who are of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, or those sons or daughters of good family of the Hearer Vehicle, if they obtain this Dharma, should not have little joy, should not be lazy and sleepy, should not be without mindfulness, should not not focus on recollection, should not have a distracted mind, should not be attached to worldly things, should not be greedy, should not be talkative, should not be mad, should not be frivolous, and should not indulge their senses. Shariputra, do not deceive those who have planted roots of virtue. After a Bodhisattva obtains this Dharma, they should greatly rely on diligence, perseverance, joy, devotion, non-laziness, restraint of the senses, and non-talkativeness. They should focus on recollection and engage in much learning. They should initiate diligence and strive to perfect these qualities. Shariputra, the fruit of hearing such a Dharma is not this: if a Bodhisattva and a Hearer hear such a Dharma, they will not become negligent, will not become credulous, will not completely lose their desire, will not diminish their diligence, will not speak without being asked, and will not increase their harmful thoughts; that is not the fruit of hearing. They have not heard such a Dharma. Shariputra, "hearing" is a superior term for true diligence, not for false diligence. Shariputra, those who enter the wrong path will not hear this Dharma. Shariputra, after hearing, you should be skilled in meaning and abide in it with diligence. Shariputra, those who have entered the wrong path do not have the patience to follow. Shariputra, whoever does not misinterpret this Dharma as it has been taught is called diligent in this Dharma. Shariputra, those who possess perfect patience and abide in diligence will not fall back into the lower realms, but will quickly and correctly practice this Dharma. Do not rely on meager roots of virtue, nor rely on not abandoning diligence until this Dharma is fully accomplished. Shariputra, whoever has learned this Dharma, fully accomplished it, and obtained patience will not perform actions that lead to falling back into the lower realms, because he has already...

Moreover, it does not rely on writing, therefore there will be no fear of regression. It will also not slacken. What is the reason for this? Shariputra, that is the complete knowledge of all defilements and complete purification. He sees that all dharmas arise from perversion, are not real, and sees them as they truly are. Seeing them truly in this way is the perfection of patience. He possesses few desires and few words, abides in completely pure morality, and his rituals, conduct, behavior, and vows are perfect. If even the gods have faith in such a person, what need is there to mention humans? If even the gods rejoice in such a being, what need is there to mention humans? If even the gods go to them, what need is there to mention humans? The gods should also honor them, what need is there to mention humans? The gods will also protect them, what need is there to mention humans? Similarly, nagas, yakshas, rakshasas, garudas, and gandharvas will also protect them. They will strive to protect, conceal, and hide them. This is called the Chapter on Similes, the fourth chapter. The fourth volume. Then, the venerable Shariputra said this to the venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, the teacher is also manifest here, and this assembly has become a vessel for teaching the profound Dharma. Venerable Subhuti, if this assembly wishes to hear the pure and profound Dharma, why do you not speak eloquently based on the Perfection of Wisdom, but remain silent? After saying this, the venerable Subhuti said this: Venerable one, I do not truly see any dharma that I can rely on to speak eloquently. Venerable Shariputra, I do not truly see the Perfection of Wisdom, nor do I see a Bodhisattva, the act of speaking, what is spoken, who speaks, or from where one speaks. Venerable Shariputra, in this way, the Perfection of Wisdom
