The earth and, fearlessness and, the eighteen unmixed qualities of the Buddha are not fully accomplished, therefore the perfection of wisdom is not fully accomplished. Nirvana is not fully accomplished, therefore the perfection of wisdom is not fully accomplished. Virtue and, all non-virtuous dharmas in between are not fully accomplished, therefore the perfection of wisdom is not fully accomplished. Likewise, apply this extensively to everything. Shariputra, for example, the sky has no form, cannot be indicated, has no substance, and is not fully accomplished. Similarly, the perfection of wisdom also has no form, cannot be indicated, has no substance, and is not fully accomplished. Shariputra, for example, a rainbow appears in various forms of colors, but there is no color in it that is fully accomplished and cannot be seen. Similarly, the perfection of wisdom also abides in various teachings, but the nature of the teachings in it cannot be seen. Shariputra, for example, no one has ever seen five fingers fully accomplished in the sky. Shariputra, similarly, no one has ever seen the nature of the perfection of wisdom being fully accomplished. After he spoke thus, the venerable Shariputra said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, this perfection of wisdom is difficult to see. The Buddha said: Shariputra, thus it is not easy to see for anyone. Shariputra said: Blessed One, this perfection of wisdom is difficult to understand. The Buddha said: Shariputra, thus there is no dharma that is visibly fully accomplished in this which is manifestly perfectly enlightened. Shariputra said: Blessed One, this perfection of wisdom is unteachable. The Buddha said: Shariputra, thus no dharma abides in what is teachable. Shariputra said: Blessed One, this perfection of wisdom is without nature. The Buddha said: Shariputra, form and, feeling and, perception and, formations and, consciousness are without nature, therefore this perfection of wisdom is without nature. Realm and, birth
