They will not become foolish, they will not doubt. Why is that? Because they abide in accordance with all dharmas, and not in discordance. Whoever they ask about the Dharma, that person answers in accordance and speaks in accordance. Then, the Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda, "Ananda, just as Shariputra has said, so it is. Ananda, this teaching of the Dharma, and the Bodhi of the Buddha, and the Bodhi of the Buddha in accordance, are not for the arrogant, not a place to enter. Ananda, for the vast Dharma of the Buddha, the minds of beings who are devoted to inferiority do not enter. Ananda, those who are devoted to inferiority, the arrogant, go under the power of arrogance, and they abide in discordance with the Bodhi of the Buddha. Ananda, that assembly is pure, having done deeds for the previous victors, generated roots of virtue, served many Buddhas, having faith in the profound, practicing the profound. Ananda, the Tathagata has confidence in this assembly, and does not show even a little of the Dharma that protects in accordance with the manifested Dharma. Ananda, this assembly is the essence, without mud, gravel, and pebbles, having served hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, abiding completely in the essence. Ananda, gravel and pebbles, those are the common words of childish ordinary people, who have no opportunity for this Dharma. Ananda, mud, that is the common word of arrogant beings. Ananda, this assembly is without arrogance, manifestly superior with great roots of virtue. Ananda, it is like this, for example, the dragon king Anavatapta, having become very joyful, having generated joy and delight, enjoys the five desirable qualities in his abode, and in his abode, very joyfully sends down a great rain of water with eight branches. Those who have become his sons are also very joyful, possessing and endowed with the five desirable qualities in their respective abodes, playing and sending down great rain. A

Ananda, in the same way, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, also sends down a great rain of Dharma. Those eldest sons, the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, also go from this world to their respective Buddha-fields, and from this Dharma arising, in front of those Tathagatas, they send down a great rain of Dharma, and exceedingly send down a great rain of Dharma. Ananda, for example, the Dragon King Ocean, when it becomes exceedingly joyful, then from its own abode it sends down a great stream of rain. Those dragons who dwell in that abode also receive that stream of rain and become joyful, and they know happiness through that stream of rain. Those who have become its sons also endure that stream of rain, and through that stream of rain they obtain supreme joy. Why is that? Ananda, other dragons cannot endure that stream of rain, and other dragons do not know happiness through that stream of rain, and they do not become joyful through those streams of rain. Ananda, in the same way, those who are particularly attached to the Dharma Jewel of the Tathagata, and those eldest sons of the Tathagata, the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, who have made roots of virtue, who have vast minds, who are certainly born from the manner of the profound Dharma, they endure this great rain of the Dharma manner of the Tathagata. Having heard it, they are exceedingly joyful and satisfied, and they know happiness. Ananda, the Tathagata relies on this power of meaning, and in the pure assembly he roars a great lion's roar and sends down a great rain of Dharma. Ananda, for example, a Wheel-Turning King, possessing a treasure of many accumulated jewels, summons all his many sons who are of pure lineage and whose maternal lineage is also pure, and he distributes the treasure of jewels, giving to each son without deceiving them. Having distributed in that way, those sons have great joy and satisfaction arise especially towards that Wheel-Turning King, thinking, 'I have become the same in meaning as the Wheel-Turning King,' and thus they know happiness. Ananda, in the same way, the Tathagata, the Dharma
