Until the very end. Just as gradually filling it completely with small amounts little by little. Similarly, the initial mind is also the supreme cause of Bodhi. Gradually, the white qualities become perfect and one becomes a Buddha. Practicing the Dharma of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, Not touching Nirvana, not acting with signs. For example, a learned and wise person, although walking back and forth, Does not dwell on either extreme, just as one does not dwell in the ocean. The Bodhisattva who acts in this way thinks: I, Predicted by the ten powers, will attain Bodhi, without arrogance. For this, saying "there is nothing," does not fear Bodhi. Acting in this way is the wisdom conduct of the Sugata. On the solitary path of the world, and in famine and disease, Seeing and not being afraid, and then putting on clothes. At the final end, constantly striving, and after fully knowing, Not even a speck of aversion arises. The Bodhisattva practices the wisdom of the Victorious Ones, Knowing that these aggregates are empty and unborn from the beginning. Not abiding in equanimity, compassion arises for the realm of sentient beings. During this time, one does not completely fall away from the Buddha's teachings. For example, a wise person, possessing all qualities, Having strength, being invincible, striving, knowing artistic rituals. Having gone beyond archery and many crafts, Being skilled in illusion, extremely desiring to benefit beings. Gathering together his father, mother, and wife, Going to a solitary path with many enemies. He, with courage and fearlessness, emanates many people, Departing in peace and returning home again. Similarly, at that time, the wise Bodhisattva, Generates great compassion for all sentient beings, Having completely transcended the four Maras and the two grounds, Abiding in supreme Samadhi, but not attaining Bodhi. Space relies on wind, wind relies on the element of water, Water relies on this great earth, and the earth relies on beings. The cause of beings acting on karma is like this, Where does space reside? One should contemplate this meaning. Similarly, the Bodhisattva abides in emptiness, Relying on the aspiration to know beings, Showing various kinds of actions, Not touching Nirvana, nor abiding in emptiness. When the wise and clear Bodhisattva,

Practicing this supreme Tingdzin of peaceful abiding, one should not intensely meditate on signs during that time. Abiding without signs, practice peace, extreme peace. Like a bird flying in the sky, there is no dwelling place; not dwelling there, it will not fall to the ground. Thus, Bodhisattvas practice the gate of liberation, not touching Nirvana, not practicing in signs. For example, a person trained in archery shoots an arrow into the sky, and with other arrows, links them in succession, not allowing the first arrow to fall to the ground. If that person desires, the arrow will fall to the ground. Thus, practicing the supreme Prajnaparamita, practicing with wisdom, skillful means, power, and miraculous abilities. As long as the roots of those virtues are not complete, one will not attain this supreme emptiness. For example, a Bhikshu possessing supreme miraculous power, abiding in the sky, simultaneously manifests various miracles, showing walking, moving, sleeping, and sitting. He has no weariness, and there is no fatigue for him. Likewise, a wise Bodhisattva abides in emptiness, not dwelling on the wisdom and miraculous abilities that have reached the other shore. He shows limitless activities to beings, and for countless eons, there is no weariness or fatigue. For example, some people sit on a great cliff, holding two umbrellas in their hands, jumping into the sky, abandoning their bodies on the great cliff, and not falling; thus, they will proceed there. Likewise, a wise Bodhisattva abides in compassion, completely holding the two umbrellas of skillful means and wisdom, contemplating all dharmas as empty, signless, and wishless, not touching Nirvana, and also seeing all dharmas. For example, one who desires jewels goes to the jewel island, obtains jewels, and then returns home. There, only the captain lives happily, not placing the assembly of relatives and friends in displeasure. Likewise, a Bodhisattva goes to the island of emptiness, the jewel, obtains the power of meditative absorption, only touching Nirvana and manifesting joy, and will not place the suffering of sentient beings in his mind. For example, a merchant seeking profit, in order to know the details, goes to the intermediate cities, towns, and villages.
