Sentient beings who have not accumulated roots of virtue mostly do not enter into this true limit and do not have great faith. Those sons and daughters of good family who do enter into this true limit and have great faith, they have accumulated roots of virtue. O Blessed One, I understand that they have accumulated very much roots of virtue. O Blessed One, for example, a person comes from a remote wilderness of a hundred yojanas, two hundred yojanas, three hundred yojanas, four hundred yojanas, five hundred yojanas, or ten hundred yojanas. By what appearance and sign does he know that there is a village, city, or town? Previously there were signs such as cowherds, shepherds, boundaries, perfect monasteries, perfect gardens, or other signs that are not these. When he sees those signs, he thinks, 'Like this, these previous signs appear, so I am near to a village, city, or town.' He finds relief and no longer fears robbers. O Blessed One, similarly, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva dwells near this profound Prajnaparamita, O Blessed One, this Bodhisattva Mahasattva is near to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. I understand that this Bodhisattva Mahasattva will soon receive a prediction of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Moreover, he will not fall into the ground of a Hearer or a Pratyekabuddha, and he will not be afraid. Why is that? Because he has seen these previous signs, such as for the sake of seeing, paying homage, serving, and hearing this profound Prajnaparamita. After they said this, The Blessed One said to the venerable Shariputra, "Shariputra, it is so, it is so. Shariputra, just as you speak and will speak by the power of the Buddha, so too, be confident in this place. "That's it.

Thus he spoke, and the venerable Śāriputra said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, just as, for example, if a man here wanted to see the great ocean, and when he saw the great ocean, if he saw a tree or a sign of a tree, or a mountain or a sign of a mountain, he would think: 'From here the great ocean is still far away.' If later he did not see a tree or a sign of a tree, or a mountain or a sign of a mountain, he would think: 'From here the great ocean is near.' Why is that? Because the great ocean gradually lowers, and there are no trees or signs of trees, or mountains or signs of mountains in the great ocean. Even if he does not see the great ocean with his own eyes, he thinks: 'I have approached the great ocean, and from now on the great ocean will not be far away.' Blessed One, similarly, when a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva hears this profound Prajñāpāramitā, he should understand: 'Even though the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones have not personally prophesied to me, I should know that I am approaching being prophesied to Unsurpassed Perfect Awakening.' Why is that? Because it is for the sake of seeing, bowing, honoring, and hearing this profound Prajñāpāramitā. Blessed One, just as, for example, when spring is near, the old leaves of the branches of various trees are blown away by the wind, and various new leaves appear. When people see these new leaves, they see the previous signs in the forests, and then they happily think: 'Flowers and fruits will soon appear.' Why is that? Because it is because there were such signs on the trees before. Blessed One, similarly, when a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva hears this profound Prajñāpāramitā,
