Moreover, if each and every bodhisattva gives alms in this way, and likewise gives alms to all, then, Subhuti, what do you think? Would those bodhisattvas accumulate more merit from that basis? Subhuti replied: "Bhagavan, very much, Sugata, very much! Bhagavan, immeasurable, Sugata, immeasurable! Bhagavan, that accumulation of merit is not even easy to count. Bhagavan, that accumulation of merit is not easy to count, not easy to be compared, not easy to be indicated, not easy to be a basis, not easy to be a cause. Bhagavan, if that accumulation of merit were to have a form, then even the three-thousand great thousand world system would not be able to contain as many as the grains of sand in the Ganges River." After he replied in this way, the Bhagavan said this to the venerable and long-lived Subhuti: "Subhuti, it is just so, it is just so. Subhuti, because a person who possesses the bodhisattva vehicle, with the Prajnaparamita and the all-knowing wisdom, dedicating the root of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment with this dedication of the Dharmadhatu, therefore, he accumulates more merit. Subhuti, for this accumulation of merit arising from the dedication of the Dharmadhatu, the merit arising from the almsgiving of those bodhisattva-mahasattvas who have the perception of signs, the former one does not even come close to one percent, not even one thousandth, not even one hundred thousandth, not even one kotith, not even one hundred kotith, not even one thousand kotith, not even one hundred thousand kotith, not even one hundred thousand kotith nayuta. It is not even close to being counted, not even counted, not even compared, not even indicated, not even as a basis, not even as a cause, not even as a proximate cause. What is the reason for that? Because, like this, the almsgiving of those former bodhisattvas who have the perception of signs, even if they give very much, it will still be counted as very much."

Then twenty thousand sons of the gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings, with their palms joined, prostrated to the Blessed One and said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, thus the roots of virtue of a bodhisattva mahasattva, held by the perfection of wisdom and skillful means, dedicated to the all-knowingness itself, this is a great dedication. Thus, whatever merit arises from the giving of those bodhisattvas who have an object of focus, manifesting and accumulating, is also suppressed. Then hundreds of thousands of sons of the gods of the retinue of the Thirty-three, with showers of divine flowers, divine incense, divine fragrance, divine garlands, divine unguents, and divine powders, and showers of divine jewels, and showers of divine garments, scattered and exceedingly scattered upon the Blessed One. With divine umbrellas, divine banners, divine bells, divine flags, and many kinds of divine offerings, they honored, respected, revered, worshipped, painted, and attended to the Blessed One, and having played the divine cymbals, they spoke these words: Alas! Blessed One, the dedication of the dharmadhatu of a bodhisattva mahasattva, this is a great dedication. Thus, whatever great heap of merit arises from the giving of those bodhisattvas who have an object of focus, manifesting and accumulating, is also suppressed. Thus, for the sake of being held by the perfection of wisdom and skillful means, this is a great dedication. Likewise, from other retinues of gods also came and with the supreme offering to the Blessed One, the supreme respect, the supreme reverence, the supreme worship, the supreme painting, the supreme attendance, they honored, respected, revered, worshipped, painted, and attended, and uttered that sound, echoing the melody. Likewise, it should be added: the Heaven of No Strife, the Joyful Heaven, the Heaven of Enjoying Emanations, the Heaven of Controlling Others' Emanations, the retinue of Brahma, the ministers of Brahma, the assembly of Brahma, and the Great Brahma.

Na (na) and small light and immeasurable light and bright light. Small virtue and immeasurable virtue and increasing virtue and cloudless and increasing merit and great fruit and sentient beings without consciousness. Great man and man subdued and rare appearance and very deep seeing and the gods of Akanistha also folded their palms in the same way, prostrated to the Blessed One, and made this request. Blessed One, thus the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with the Prajnaparamita and skillful means, the roots of virtue held by the dedication, the Bodhisattva with signs of sentient beings accumulated for so long, and the accumulation of merit so widely and truly accomplished can also suppress, which is very rare. Then, the Blessed One spoke to all the sons of the gods, including the sons of the gods of the Pure Abode: Sons of the gods, all the sentient beings in the world of the three thousand great thousand worlds, as many as the sands of the Ganges, who have truly entered into the unexcelled perfect enlightenment, let alone the merit of giving alms for the sake of attaining the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Sons of the gods, in this way, the world of the three thousand great thousand worlds, as many as the sands of the Ganges, and other sentient beings who have all vowed to attain the unexcelled perfect enlightenment, and after generating the mind of enlightenment. The world of the three thousand great thousand worlds, as many as the sands of the Ganges, and all other sentient beings with Dharma robes and alms and bedding and medicine for sickness and implements and all that is combined with happiness and all that dwells in the touch of happiness. Each Bodhisattva also dwells in the kalpas as many as the sands of the Ganges and gives alms, and so all those with signs of consciousness also give alms in between. In this way, all those sentient beings and all those Bodhisattvas are examined one by one from all aspects. Each Bodhisattva from each Bodhisattva between all of them
