Rejoicing in that which is excellent, principal, श्रेष्ठ, supreme, wonderful, wonderful guru, unsurpassed, unexcelled, unequaled, dissimilar, and following the equal, rejoicing with rejoicing, thus after rejoicing, the merit of rejoicing and possessing, dedicating to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, thus the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment can be accomplished, if one thinks and says like this, how can the great Bodhisattva not be transformed into inverted thought, not be transformed into inverted mind, not be transformed into inverted view? If the one who dedicates thinks like this: those dharmas are exhausted, extinguished, separated, transformed, where does one dedicate without exhausting those dharmas? Thinking like this is dedicating to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. If one thinks like this: not dedicating dharma to dharma, thus contemplating, it is also dedicating to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Venerable Subhuti, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who dedicates like this, is not transformed into inverted thought, not transformed into inverted mind, not transformed into inverted view. Why? Thus, he does not cling to dedication. If one thinks like this: mind does not know mind, dharma does not know dharma, thus truly knowing, it is also dedicating to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, this is the unsurpassed dedication of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. If the Bodhisattva Mahasattva knows that he accumulates merit, then it is not dedicating to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Why? Thus, he clings to dedication. If he thinks like this: that accumulated merit is also solitary and peaceful, the merit of rejoicing and possessing What is the merit of action, that is also solitary and peaceful, thinking like this, then to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment

is completely dedicated. If one thinks that all these formations are secluded, but does not understand it that way, then this is the Prajnaparamita of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Just as the root of virtue of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have completely passed into Nirvana is dedicated, so too is his root of virtue the same. If one knows that the one who dedicates it is of the same kind, of the same characteristics, belonging to the same category, of the same nature, then it is not dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Why is that? The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, do not dedicate in the manner of signs. That which has passed is exhausted, ceased, separated, transformed. That which has not yet come is also not obtained. For that which is happening now, no abiding is perceived. That which is not perceived is not a sign and not an object. If one makes it a sign and does not think about it, then it is not dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. If one does not make it a sign because of being separated from mindfulness, and does not think about it; or if one does not pay attention to it because of being separated from mindfulness or not understanding, then even so, it is not dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. If one thinks about the sign and does not separate from the sign, then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's root of virtue is dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. In this way, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should train in this, and this should be understood as the skillful means of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This dedication of the root of virtue by these skillful means is close to omniscience itself. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva who wishes to learn these skillful means should listen to, hold, recite, read, comprehend, diligently recite, teach, closely teach, transmit, chant, and completely inquire about this Prajnaparamita without interruption. Why is that? Prajna Para

Because one does not rely on going to the other shore and does not possess hearing, one cannot enter into the activity of completely dedicating this Perfection of Wisdom. If someone says that even though this Perfection of Wisdom is the basis of the path, one can dedicate the object of meritorious action to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, one should say, 'Do not say that.' Why is that? Because my objects are ceased, and those formations are also ceased, that is, they are peaceful, solitary, and free from objects. However, that person takes what is truly as it is as a sign and discriminates, and because he perceives what is not truly as it is as truly as it is, he dedicates without objectifying the object. Such a pure root of dedication, dedicated to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, is not permitted by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Why is that? Because the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, take complete nirvana as a sign and discriminate, and whatever objectifies nirvana is their great object. The Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas do not say that dedication with the notion of an object accomplishes great things. Why is that? Because dedication is accompanied by poison and thorns. For example, there is delicious food that contains poison, and although it should be discarded through its color, smell, taste, and touch, because it contains poison, it should be completely avoided by the wise, and should not be enjoyed. Similarly, a person with the nature of a wanderer, with the nature of corrupt wisdom, thinks that he can enjoy it. When he eats that food, he feels happy when he tastes it through its color, smell, taste, and touch, but when it is digested, its ripening will become suffering, and he will die from that cause, or suffer the suffering of being near death. Noble Subhuti, similarly, some people wrongly cling to this, wrongly understand, and wrongly recite
