This Perfection of Wisdom, even when young, should be made to enter into books. With faith, have faith; with understanding, understand; with special delight, have special delight; with joy, have joy; with perfect special intention, have perfect special intention; with the generation of the mind of enlightenment, give with special intention to the Bodhisattva who has generated the mind of enlightenment. When young, diligently practice writing and reading without laziness, diligently cause them to hold it, truly show it, truly establish it, truly praise it, truly make them rejoice, explain it with words, explain it with aspects, explain it accordingly, and truly show the meaning of this to them. And say to them, "Son of good family, come here! Learn this path of the Bodhisattva. If you learn and practice this path diligently, you will quickly awaken to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Having awakened to perfectly complete Buddhahood, you will also subdue the immeasurable realms of sentient beings, causing them to perfectly exhaust the unsurpassed aggregates, thus truly distinguishing the ultimate limit." Speak thus, and thus tame their minds, and make them free from doubt, and say these words, "Son of good family, obtain these very dharmas that are endowed with the Perfection of Wisdom." If you say so, Kauśika, a son or daughter of good family will generate even more merit than before. Why is that? Kauśika, from this, the fruit of entering the stream is well distinguished. Kauśika, let alone the merit of placing all sentient beings of Jambudvipa in the fruit of entering the stream. Kauśika, whatever sentient beings there are in the world system of the four great continents, all of them are placed in the fruit of entering the stream by any son or daughter of good family. Kauśika, let alone the merit of placing all sentient beings of the world system of the four great continents in the fruit of entering the stream. Kauśika!

In a single Buddha-field world, all sentient beings that exist are placed in the fruit of stream-entry by some son or daughter of good family. What about Kauśika, who manifestly accumulates merit by placing all sentient beings of a single Buddha-field world in the fruit of stream-entry? Kauśika, in a two-thousandfold intermediate world, all sentient beings that exist are placed in the fruit of stream-entry by some son or daughter of good family. What about Kauśika, who manifestly accumulates merit by placing all sentient beings of a two-thousandfold intermediate world in the fruit of stream-entry? Kauśika, in a three-thousandfold great thousand world, all sentient beings that exist are placed in the fruit of stream-entry by some son or daughter of good family. What about Kauśika, who manifestly accumulates merit by placing all sentient beings of a three-thousandfold great thousand world in the fruit of stream-entry? Kauśika, if in such a number of three-thousandfold great thousand worlds as the sands of the Ganges River, all sentient beings that exist are placed in the fruit of stream-entry by some son or daughter of good family, Kauśika, what do you think? Would that son or daughter of good family generate much merit from that basis? Indra replied: Bhagavan, yes, Sugata, yes. The Bhagavan said: Kauśika, even more so, this son or daughter of good family would generate much merit. For if this Perfection of Wisdom is made small and contained in a book, and then with manifest faith, with manifest faith; with thorough understanding, with thorough understanding; with exceeding devotion, with exceeding devotion; with a mind of purity, with a mind of purity; with exceeding excellent intention, with exceeding excellent intention; is given with exceeding intention to a Bodhisattva who has generated the mind of enlightenment, or is written in a small form, and...

Also, without being negligent in reading, through practice and diligence, cause them to understand, correctly explain, correctly record, correctly praise, correctly make them rejoice, express with words, express figuratively, express in sequence. And correctly explain the meaning therein. Say to them, 'Good son, come here and study this Bodhisattva path.' If you study and practice this path, and strive diligently, you will quickly attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and perfectly enlightened Buddhahood. After perfectly attaining Buddhahood, you will also be able to subdue immeasurable realms of sentient beings, causing them to reach unsurpassed and perfect Nirvana, completely cutting off afflictions.' Thus, tame their minds and free them from doubt. And say, 'Good son, you should attain these dharmas that correspond to the Perfection of Wisdom.' If it is said in this way, then, Kausika, this good son or good daughter will accumulate more merit than the former. Why? Kausika, because this can attain the fruit of stream-entry. Kausika, furthermore, if any good son or good daughter were to place all the sentient beings of Jambudvipa in the fruit of once-returning, Kausika, do you think that this good son or good daughter would accumulate more merit from that basis? Indra reported: World Honored One, very much, Sugata, very much. The World Honored One taught: Kausika, even so, this good son or good daughter accumulates even more merit. Because if someone were to copy this Perfection of Wisdom into a book at a young age, and with great faith believe in it, with deep thought think about it, with
