knowledge, the notion of non-virtuous dharmas, the notion of dharmas that are prophesied, the notion of dharmas that are not prophesied, the notion of dharmas with outflows, the notion of dharmas without outflows, the notion of worldly dharmas, the notion of transcendental dharmas, the notion of conditioned dharmas, and the notion of unconditioned dharmas—all of these are the evil abodes of body, speech, and mind of a bodhisattva mahasattva. Subhuti, when a bodhisattva mahasattva practices the perfection of wisdom, having completely abandoned all those evil abodes, he gives charity to those who desire it. That is to say, he gives food to those who desire food, drink to those who desire drink, vehicles to those who desire vehicles, and he gives whatever human implements are desired to those who desire them. He also causes others to abide in correct giving, settles them, and establishes them. He also completely dedicates all roots of virtue, and with a joyful mind, shares them with all sentient beings, and completely aspires to purify the Buddha-field. Furthermore, Subhuti, a bodhisattva mahasattva fills the three-thousand-great-thousand world realm with the seven precious substances and offers them to the Three Jewels. Having offered them, he also completely aspires in this way with a joyful mind, saying, "By this root of virtue of mine, may the Buddha-field become made of the seven precious substances." Furthermore, Subhuti, a bodhisattva mahasattva makes offerings to the stupas of the Tathagatas with the sounds of divine and human music. Having made offerings, he also shares that root of virtue with all sentient beings, and completely aspires in this way, saying, "By this root of virtue of mine, may the sound of divine music always arise in that Buddha-field." Furthermore, Subhuti, a bodhisattva mahasattva fills the three-thousand-great-thousand world realm with divine incense,

While practicing, one thinks like this: 'I shall also enter the first dhyana. I shall also cause all sentient beings to truly abide in the first dhyana, settle, and establish them.' Similarly, 'I shall also enter between the four dhyanas. I shall also cause all sentient beings to truly abide in the four dhyanas, settle, and establish them.' Similarly, for the four immeasurables and the four formless absorptions, settle and establish them. Similarly, 'I shall also cultivate the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. I shall also cause all sentient beings to abide in the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, settle, and establish them.' In that Buddha-field where I attain unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment and Buddhahood, it is imperative that all sentient beings do not separate from the four dhyanas, do not separate from the four immeasurables and the four formless absorptions, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment.' Thinking thus, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, endowed with good fortune, purifies the Buddha-field in this way by practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. By practicing that Bodhi, all those thoughts of his will be completely fulfilled. He will also be endowed with all virtuous qualities, and other beings will also be endowed with all virtuous qualities, truly abiding, settling, and establishing. He will also show those sentient beings his own beautiful form, and will also speak of the cause of that (beautiful form). Having seen it, those sentient beings will generate desire, and thus enter into the practice of the cause of that very thing. Those sentient beings, for example, by fully upholding the power of merit, will eventually manifest and accomplish such a beautiful form. All those sentient beings whom he has ripened will also be born together with him in that Buddha-field. The sound of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness appears, or the inner sound is swallowed, and (sounds) produced by the effort of the lips, teeth, tongue, palate, and so on.
