I thought that those who do not manifest these are worthy of reverence. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to those gods: "O sons of gods, those who do not manifest which equality of virtuous dharmas, which equality of dharmas that, when manifested, will abide in the ground of the Hearers or the Self-Buddhas, this is not one of the rare and difficult deeds of those Bodhisattvas. O sons of gods, those who vow to completely liberate hundreds of thousands, immeasurable, countless, and limitless beings from sorrow, and those beings who are to be completely liberated from sorrow are also extremely difficult to see, this is their utmost difficult deed. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, those who think of taming all sentient beings, and thus enter into the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, vowing to tame all sentient beings, are like thinking of taming the sky. Why is that? Because the sky is secluded, therefore one should view sentient beings as secluded; similarly, because the sky is emptiness, therefore one should view sentient beings as emptiness; because the sky is without essence, therefore one should view sentient beings as without essence. O sons of gods, in this way, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who don the armor of great compassion for the sake of sentient beings who do not exist are performing a difficult deed. Whoever thinks of donning the armor of great compassion for the sake of sentient beings is simply wanting to fight with the sky. The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who has donned the armor does not see those sentient beings for whose benefit the armor has been donned. Why is that? Because in this way, due to the seclusion of sentient beings, one should view the armor as secluded. If it is said thus, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who does not shrink back and does not shrink back at all, that is practicing in the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Because in this way, whatever is the seclusion of form, that is the seclusion of sentient beings; similarly, feeling, perception, formations, etc., are also like that.
