is the nature of non-things. The nature of non-things is also without object. The Blessed One said: Sharadvatiputra, what do you think? Can the five aggregates of taking, like a dream, learn the Perfection of Wisdom and surely become all-knowing? He replied: Blessed One, no. Why? Blessed One, like this, a dream is the nature of non-things. The nature of non-things is also without object. The Blessed One said: Sharadvatiputra, what do you think? Are the five aggregates like a stone woman? Like magic? Like a mirage? Like an illusion? He replied: Blessed One, so it is. The Blessed One said: Sharadvatiputra, what do you think? Can these five aggregates learn the Perfection of Wisdom and surely become all-knowing? He replied: Blessed One, no. Why? Blessed One, like this, form is like an illusion, so are feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness like an illusion. What is consciousness, that is the six sense bases. What are the six sense bases, that is because of the five aggregates of taking. Blessed One, form is like a dream, so are feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness like a dream. What is consciousness, that is the six sense bases. What are the six sense bases, that is the five aggregates of taking. They also do not perceive inner emptiness. The nature of non-things also does not perceive between emptiness. Blessed One, if a Bodhisattva newly enters the Great Vehicle, will he not be startled, frightened, and afraid when he hears this Perfection of Wisdom being taught? After asking this, the Blessed One said to the venerable Sharadvatiputra:

Sharadvatiputra, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva newly enters the Great Vehicle, and is not skilled in means regarding the Perfection of Wisdom, and has not relied on a virtuous friend, he will be afraid and fearful. Question: Venerable Bhagavan, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Perfection of Wisdom, so that upon hearing this teaching of the Perfection of Wisdom, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva will not be afraid or fearful, and will be skilled in means? The Bhagavan said: Sharadvatiputra, here, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with a mind endowed with all-knowingness, he separately observes the aspect of form as impermanent, but does not fixate on it. Similarly, with a mind endowed with all-knowingness, he separately observes the aspects of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness as impermanent, and does not fixate on them. Sharadvatiputra, this is the skillful means of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. Sharadvatiputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with a mind endowed with all-knowingness, he separately observes the aspect of form as suffering, but does not fixate on it. Similarly, he separately observes the aspects of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness as suffering, and does not fixate on it. Similarly, he separately observes the aspect of form as selfless, but does not fixate on it. Similarly, he separately observes the aspects of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness as selfless, and does not fixate. He separately observes the aspect of form as emptiness, but does not fixate on it. Similarly, he separately observes the aspects of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness as emptiness, and does not fixate on it. He separately observes the aspect of form as signless, but does not fixate on it. Similarly, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness
