Is not observed. The perfection of diligence is not observed. The perfection of meditation is not observed. The perfection of wisdom is not observed. The mindfulnesses are not observed. The right abandonments are not observed. Thus combined, up to the all-knowingness itself is not observed. The conditioned realm is not observed. The conditioned realm is not observed. Because of not observing, it does not manifestly accumulate. Because it does not manifestly accumulate, it does not arise, it does not cease. Why is that? Subhuti, like this, whether the Tathagatas appear or not, this nature of dharmas is, the abiding nature, this dharma abiding is, the abiding nature, the dharma-dhatu is also the abiding nature. Therefore, since it is without arising and without ceasing, it is, with a non-distracted mind, abiding without being separated from the mental activities endowed with all-knowingness. Subhuti, thus, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the perfection of meditation, is upholding the perfection of wisdom. Asked, Blessed One, Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the perfection of wisdom, how does he uphold the perfection of giving? The Buddha said, Subhuti, here, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practicing the perfection of wisdom, truly sees all dharmas as emptiness. Asked, Blessed One, how does the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva truly see all dharmas as emptiness? The Buddha said, Subhuti, here, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practicing the perfection of wisdom, in the emptiness of inner emptiness, does not observe what is called inner emptiness. In the emptiness of outer emptiness, he does not observe what is called outer emptiness. In the emptiness of inner and outer emptiness, he does not observe what is called inner and outer emptiness. Emptiness of emptiness, thus combined, up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things, in the emptiness of the nature of non-things, does not observe.

O! The Bodhisattva Mahasattva, abiding in those fourteen kinds of emptiness, does not fixate on form as empty or non-empty. Feelings, thoughts, formations, and consciousness are empty or non-empty, and he does not fixate on them either. Mindfulness and right abandonments, similarly, until enlightenment, are also empty or non-empty, and he does not fixate on them. Conditioned realms and unconditioned realms are empty or non-empty, and he does not fixate on them either. When the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices this Prajnaparamita, he practices giving, whether it be food, drink, clothing, vehicles, bedding, cushions, or even any human necessities. However, he correctly sees that giving is empty, and he also correctly sees the giver and the recipient as empty. Therefore, he has no opportunity for a mind of stinginess or attachment to exist. Why is that? Because when the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices Prajnaparamita, from the moment he generates the initial aspiration until he sits under the Bodhi tree, all these discriminations do not arise. Just as the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened One, when manifesting supreme and perfect enlightenment, does not have a mind of stinginess or attachment, similarly, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, when practicing Prajnaparamita, also has no mind of stinginess or attachment. Therefore, this Prajnaparamita is the teacher of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Subhuti, therefore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who abides in Prajnaparamita is one who completely upholds the Paramita of Giving. Question: Blessed One, how does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who abides in Prajnaparamita completely uphold the Paramita of Discipline? The Buddha said to Subhuti:

Gain! Here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom does not distinguish between the minds of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Why is that? As such, he does not fixate on the grounds of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and because the mind with which one dedicates to the ground of Hearers or Solitary Buddhas is also not fixated upon. From the moment of generating the first mind until sitting at the heart of enlightenment, he generates the mind to abandon killing. I also abandon killing, and I also speak the praise of abandoning killing, and I also cause others to truly uphold abandoning killing, and I also speak the praise of those others who abandon killing, and I rejoice accordingly. I also generate the mind to abandon wrong views, and I abandon wrong views, and I also cause others to truly uphold abandoning wrong views, and I also speak the praise of abandoning wrong views, and I also speak the praise of those others who abandon wrong views, and I rejoice accordingly. If that discipline has no attachment to the Hearer himself, or the Solitary Buddha himself, or the Buddha himself, or any Dharma, then what need is there to mention others? Gain! Thus, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom is one who completely upholds the Perfection of Discipline. Asked: Blessed One! How does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom completely uphold the Perfection of Patience? The Buddha said: Gain! Here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom generates patience in accordance with it, and he thinks thus: Here, there is no Dharma that arises, or ceases, or is born, or dies, or is angry, or reviles, or cuts off, or severs, or strikes, or should be prevented. Thinking thus, from the moment of generating the first mind until sitting at the heart of enlightenment, if all sentient beings come before him and are angry, or revile, or strike with fists, or sticks, or weapons, or with hands, or cut off?
