And having thus correctly known, if one thus dedicates, it is dedicating to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. When a Bodhisattva thus practices the Perfection of Wisdom, and practices the Perfections of Concentration, Diligence, Patience, Discipline, and Generosity, he will not be transformed into inverted thoughts, inverted minds, and inverted views. Why is that? Because, with respect to that dedication, those roots of virtue, that enlightenment, and that mind, there is no manifest clinging, and also with respect to what is manifestly clung to, it is not truly seen, therefore, this is a Bodhisattva, a great Bodhisattva, dedicating to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. If a Bodhisattva, a great Bodhisattva, correctly knows that the objects of meritorious action that are manifestly produced are empty of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, and correctly knows that they are empty by means of the Perfection of Wisdom, correctly knows that they are empty by means of the Perfections of Concentration, Diligence, Patience, Discipline, and Generosity, correctly knows that they are empty by means of the emptiness of inner emptiness up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things, correctly knows that they are empty by means of the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, correctly knows that they are empty by means of the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical understandings, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, thus, a Bodhisattva, a great Bodhisattva, has dedicated the objects of meritorious action to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. If a Bodhisattva, with respect to the objects of meritorious action born from the act of rejoicing: Correctly knows that the nature of the objects of meritorious action born from the act of rejoicing is empty, and also those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are empty of the nature of a Buddha, and the roots of virtue are also empty of the nature of roots of virtue, and manifest production is also empty of the nature of manifest production, and enlightenment

The mind of enlightenment is also devoid of the nature of the mind of enlightenment, and the mind of dedication is also devoid of the nature of the mind of dedication. Enlightenment is also devoid of the nature of enlightenment, and Prajnaparamita is also devoid of the nature of Prajnaparamita. Similarly, the Paramitas of meditation, diligence, patience, discipline, and generosity are also devoid of nature. Inner emptiness and even the emptiness of the nature of non-things are also devoid of nature. The thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the ten powers, the fearlessnesses, the various correct knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddhas are also correctly known to be devoid of the nature of the Dharma of the Buddhas. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should thus practice in the emptiness of Prajnaparamita. This is the Prajnaparamita of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Furthermore, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should correctly remember the roots of virtue of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat who have passed into complete nirvana, and dedicate them in this way: With the mind of dedication, just as the dedication is, if one correctly knows its nature and essence, it is dedicated to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. Such dedication is not a perverted thought, not a perverted mind, not a perverted view. If a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices Prajnaparamita and knows the roots of virtue of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, in the manner of signs, it is not a dedication to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. If one remembers the past Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have passed into complete nirvana, who are signless and non-objective, and clings to signs, then those roots of virtue cannot be dedicated to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment.

It is not dedication. If so, then it is a perverted perception, a perverted mind, and a perverted view. If one does not know those Buddhas, those roots of virtue, those manifest actions, and those aspirations, and does not grasp at signs, then those roots of virtue are dedicated to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. If so, then that Bodhisattva Mahasattva is not a perverted perception, not a perverted mind, and not a perverted view. Maitreya said: Venerable Subhuti, how is it that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva neither grasps at signs nor makes dedication? Subhuti said: Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, by training in those skillful means in this Prajnaparamita, therefore, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should be known as skillful in means in Prajnaparamita. Without relying on Prajnaparamita, one cannot dedicate objects of meritorious action. Maitreya said: Venerable Subhuti, in Prajnaparamita, those Buddhas, those roots of virtue, those manifest actions, and those aspirations that are dedicated to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment are also absent. Will this not become a fault? To this, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices in Prajnaparamita, one should discriminate and observe in this way: Are those bodies and those manifest actions extinguished? However, grasping at signs, one discriminates, that is, grasping at signs, one discriminates those Buddhas, those roots of virtue, those manifest actions, and those aspirations. The Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, do not permit rejoicing in such a dedication in the manner of signs. Why is that? Because grasping at signs,
