How does one completely dedicate the things that are held to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? Subhuti said: Maitreya, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly and truly entered the Mahayana practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he also holds the Perfection of Wisdom in a way that does not focus on characteristics, and not in a way that focuses on characteristics. Similarly, he practices the Perfection of Meditation, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Morality, and the Perfection of Generosity. He also holds the Perfection of Generosity in a way that does not focus on characteristics, and not in a way that focuses on characteristics. He practices inner emptiness, and also holds inner emptiness in a way that does not focus on characteristics, and not in a way that focuses on characteristics. He practices between the emptiness of the nature of non-things, and also holds the emptiness of the nature of non-things in a way that does not focus on characteristics, and not in a way that focuses on characteristics. He practices the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, and also holds those thirty-seven factors of enlightenment in a way that does not focus on characteristics, and not in a way that focuses on characteristics. He practices the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. He also holds those in a way that does not focus on characteristics, and not in a way that focuses on characteristics. In that way, he will have great faith in the Perfection of Wisdom. He will have great faith in the Perfection of Meditation, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Morality, and the Perfection of Generosity. He will have great faith in inner emptiness. He will have great faith in the emptiness of the nature of non-things. He will have great faith in the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. He will have great faith in the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and he will also be completely taken care of by virtuous friends.

Furthermore, those virtuous spiritual friends also explain to him this Prajñāpāramitā up to the perfection of generosity, with meaning and with words, so that the Bodhisattva enters without fault, and until he does not become separated from the Prajñāpāramitā. Similarly, until the Bodhisattva enters without fault, he will not be separated from all the perfections, and all emptiness, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the powers, the fearlessnesses, the analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and so on. They also explain the works of Māra, and when he hears those works of Māra, they will neither decrease nor increase. Why is that? Because those works of Māra are by nature imperceptible. That is, until the Bodhisattva enters without fault, he will not be separated from the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and he will also generate roots of virtue in them, and those roots of virtue will completely hold the lineage of the Bodhisattva. Until the Bodhisattva realizes unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, he will not be separated from that lineage of the Bodhisattva. Maitreya, furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva who has newly and rightly entered the vehicle, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have cut off the stream of the path, who have cut off the stream that leads to elaboration and existence, who have cut off the path of words, who have abandoned burdens, who have removed thorns, who have cut off the bonds to existence, the Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas who are liberated by the wisdom of equality, who dwell and live in the immeasurable and countless realms of the ten directions, and whatever merit is accumulated by the Śrāvakas of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and those who generate roots of virtue in them, and the royal families like the great Śāla trees, and the Brahmin families like the great Śāla trees, and the
