It is also thus. The ten powers of the Tathagata, the fearlessnesses, the various perfect enlightenments, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha are also just like that. Thus, if one contemplates things as they are, it is also thus. Enlightenment is also like that. Mind is also thus. Form is also thus. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are also thus. The eye is also thus. The ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are also thus. Internal emptiness and the emptiness of the nature of non-things are also thus. Mindfulness, perfect abandonment, miraculous feet, faculties, powers, limbs of enlightenment, and the path are also thus. The ten powers are also thus. The fearlessnesses are also thus. The various perfect enlightenments are also thus. The eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha are also thus. So, what are things? What are objects? What is samadhi? What is mind? What are those roots of virtue? What is the mind born from the moment of rejoicing, which is completely dedicated to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment? Maitreya said: Venerable Subhuti, if those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas practice the six perfections, also attend to and honor many Buddhas, also generate roots of virtue, are also completely embraced by virtuous friends, and also study the dharmas that are empty of their own nature, then they will not grasp those things, those objects, those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, those roots of virtue, and those objects of meritorious action born from the moment of rejoicing, and dedicate them to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, but rather dedicate them in the same way with the nature of non-duality and the nature of signlessness, not with the nature of objects, the nature of non-objects, the nature of defilement, the nature of purification, the nature of arising, and the nature of cessation.

Yes. If those Bodhisattvas have not studied the six perfections, have not made offerings to many Buddhas, have not generated roots of virtue, have not been completely embraced by virtuous friends, and have not studied the dharmas that are empty of their own nature, then they will grasp at those things, those objects, those roots of virtue, and the mind of enlightenment that arises from the moment of rejoicing, and dedicate them to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Venerable Subhuti, this exposition of the Perfection of Wisdom should not be spoken in the presence of Bodhisattvas who have newly entered the Great Vehicle. Likewise, one should not expound the Perfection of Meditation, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Morality, the Perfection of Generosity, and emptiness of the internal, up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things. Why is that? Because their faith, their joy, their delight, and their reverence, whatever exists, will also disappear because of that. To a non-returning Bodhisattva Mahasattva, it should be spoken, it should be taught, and even the dharmas that are empty of their own nature should be taught. For, having heard such, they will not be afraid, will not be frightened, and will not be alarmed. If they are embraced by virtuous friends, and have especially made offerings to the Buddhas of the past, and have generated roots of virtue, and have made offerings to many Buddhas, then, Venerable Subhuti, that Bodhisattva Mahasattva should thus dedicate the object of meritorious action that arises from the moment of rejoicing to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The Perfection of Wisdom in Eight Thousand Lines, Chapter Twenty-Six, Spoken by Subhuti. Maitreya, the mind with which one rejoices and makes dedication, is exhausted, ceased, and non-existent, it is transformed, as well as those things, those objects, those roots of virtue.

And, the object of merit born from the moment of rejoicing is also not exhausted and cut off. If it is transformed, what is the mind born from the moment of rejoicing? What are those objects? What are those objects of focus? What good roots are dedicated to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment? What? Does the mind dedicate with the mind? If the mind dedicates with the mind, the two minds will not meet, and the nature of the mind cannot be dedicated. Maitreya said: If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, like this, the Prajnaparamita is without objects, and the Dhyana Paramita, and the Virya Paramita, and the Kshanti Paramita, and the Shila Paramita, and the Dana Paramita are without objects, and form is without objects, and feeling, and perception, and formations, and consciousness are without objects, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment are without objects, and the powers, and the fearlessnesses, and the individual correct knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha are without objects, and if one knows that enlightenment is without objects, like this, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should dedicate the object of merit born from the moment of rejoicing to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. If one dedicates in that way, it is dedicated to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. The Bodhisattva Maitreya said this to the Venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, will a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly entered the Great Vehicle be afraid upon hearing this teaching, and will he not be alarmed and fearful? Venerable Subhuti, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly entered the Great Vehicle also dedicate those good roots to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment? The merit born from the moment of rejoicing
