not included in the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground, and not completely dedicated to it. Noble son, these should be recognized as the spiritual friends of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. Noble son, furthermore, the spiritual friends of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas are those who teach the Dharma to those who have mindfulness closely established, saying that all things are impermanent, and they teach it in a way that is without object of focus, and those roots of virtue are also not completely dedicated to the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground, but only to the All-Knowingness. Similarly, they teach the Dharma that the right abandonments, the feet of miraculous power, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, and the paths are impermanent, and they teach it in a way that is without object of focus, and those roots of virtue are also not completely dedicated to the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground, but only to the All-Knowingness. Similarly, they teach the Dharma that the fearlessnesses, the individual correct knowledges, the powers, and the unmixed Dharmas of the Buddha are impermanent, and they teach the Dharma in order to lead to the cultivation of All-Knowingness, and they teach it in a way that is without object of focus, and they teach the Dharma in order to lead to the cultivation of Bodhi, and they teach it in a way that is without object of focus, and those roots of virtue are also not completely dedicated to the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground. Noble son, these are the spiritual friends of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. Those who are completely embraced by them will not be afraid, will not be alarmed, and will not become alarmed when they hear this teaching. Noble son asked: Blessed One, how is it that a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, but is unskilled in means, relies on the hand of evil friends, and is completely abandoned by spiritual friends, becomes afraid, alarmed, and becomes alarmed when he hears this teaching of the Perfection of Wisdom? The Blessed One replied: Noble son, here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices in the Perfection of Wisdom is separated from the mental activities that are associated with All-Knowingness.
