One does not engage in the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of those. Why is that? Because Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, engaging in the Perfection of Wisdom, do not truly see any difference in any dharma. Shariputra, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who engages in this way is called diligent in the Perfection of Wisdom. One does not engage in the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the divine eye. One does not engage in the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the divine ear, knowing the minds of others, remembering past lives, and the realm of miraculous powers. Why is that? Because if one who engages in the Perfection of Wisdom does not truly see even the very nature of the Perfection of Wisdom, what need is there to mention Bodhisattvas? All manifestations of all kinds of superknowledges are behind. Shariputra, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who engages in the Perfection of Wisdom in this way is called diligent. Shariputra, furthermore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva engaging in the Perfection of Wisdom does not think, 'I shall know the death and birth of beings abiding in the eastern world, as many as the sands of the Ganges, with the divine eye; I shall hear their sounds with the divine ear; I shall also know their minds; I shall also remember their past lives; and having gone with miraculous powers, I shall teach them the Dharma.' Likewise, in the southern, western, northern, northeastern, southeastern, southwestern, northwestern, lower, and upper directions of the world, as many as the sands of the Ganges, I shall know the death and birth of beings abiding there with the divine eye; I shall hear their sounds with the divine ear; I shall also know their minds; I shall also remember their past lives; and having gone with miraculous powers, I shall teach them the Dharma.' One does not think in this way. Shariputra, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who engages in the Perfection of Wisdom in this way is called diligent.

Should be practiced. Countless sentient beings, even countless ones, will all attain Nirvana. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita in this way, even the evil demon cannot find an opportunity. All worldly afflictions will become completely clear. In the eastern world, in worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, all the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who dwell there, and in the south, west, north, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest, below, and above, in each direction, in worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, all the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who dwell there, those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will also protect that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, so that he does not fall into the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage. The gods of the Four Great Kings' retinue, the Thirty-three, the No-Conflict, the Tushita, the Delightful Transformation, the gods of the Others' Emanation Controlling, the gods of the Brahma retinue, and all the gods who dwell between them up to Akanishta, they will also protect that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, so that no obstacle arises. Whatever bodily defects he has, they will also completely disappear in this very life. Why is that? Because that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva pervades all sentient beings with loving-kindness.

Furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, it is called diligence. Shariputra, again, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not think, 'Is there any dharma that combines with dharmas? Is related to them? Meets them? Or does not meet them?' Why is that? Because they do not truly see the combination, relation, meeting, or non-meeting of dharmas. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, it is called diligence. Shariputra, again, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not think, 'When will I quickly realize the Dharmadhatu? When will I not realize the Dharmadhatu?' Why is that? Because the Dharmadhatu does not realize the Dharmadhatu. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, it is called diligence. Shariputra, again, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not truly see any dharma apart from the Dharmadhatu. They do not differentiate the Dharmadhatu from dharmas. Nor do they think, 'When will this Dharmadhatu be thus understood? When will it not be understood?' Thus, they do not truly see the dharma by which one dharma understands another dharma. Thus, they do not apply the term 'empty' to the Dharmadhatu, nor do they apply the term 'not empty.' Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, it is called diligence. Shariputra, again, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not apply form to emptiness, nor do they apply emptiness to form. Likewise, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness are also the same.
