Is it existence itself? There is nothing that will become non-existence. What is the reason for that? Maitreya, at what time, when you are conceptually thinking about the entity of the characteristics of conditioned phenomena, is that entity of the characteristics of conditioned phenomena not grasped by conceptual thought? At what time, abiding in the realm of the inexpressible and closely connected with the conduct of wisdom, even at that time of non-conceptual thought, is it not also seized by non-conceptual thought? Blessed One, it is not so. Maitreya, if that is so, then for the entity of the characteristics of conditioned phenomena, whatever is named as form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, up to all the dharmas of the Buddha, are those names that are arbitrarily assigned not merely conceptualizations? Even if those are merely conceptualizations, abiding in the realm of non-conceptual thought, and abandoning conceptual thought, what is it that takes existence as its object, whatever is named as form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, up to the dharmas of the Buddha, that takes existence as its object? After this question, Bodhisattva Maitreya said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, the Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom and abides in the skillful differentiation of dharmas, therefore I will know how to differentiate forms in various ways and establish time divisions. I will also know how to differentiate feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness, up to the dharmas of the Buddha, in various ways and establish time divisions. After this statement, the Blessed One said to Bodhisattva Maitreya: Maitreya, the Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom and abides in the skillful differentiation of dharmas should know how to establish the differentiation of forms in three ways. The differentiation of feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness, up to the dharmas of the Buddha, should also be known to be established, like this, this is the form of complete imputation, this is the form of discrimination, this is the form of the nature of dharma. Like this, this is the feeling of complete imputation, this is the feeling of discrimination, this is the feeling of the nature of dharma. Like this

This is the completely imputed perception. This is the dependently imputed perception. This is the nature of reality perception. Thus, this is the completely imputed formation. This is the dependently imputed formation. This is the nature of reality formation. Thus, this is the completely imputed consciousness. This is the dependently imputed consciousness. This is the nature of reality consciousness, from here. Thus, these are the completely imputed Buddha-dharmas, these are the dependently imputed Buddha-dharmas. These are the nature of reality Buddha-dharmas, up to here. After saying this, the Bodhisattva Maitreya asked the Blessed One thus: Blessed One, what is the completely imputed form? What is the dependently imputed form? What is the nature of reality form? Blessed One, what are the completely imputed feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness? Blessed One, what are the completely imputed Buddha-dharmas? What are the dependently imputed Buddha-dharmas? What are the nature of reality Buddha-dharmas? The Blessed One replied: Maitreya, for those things that are the characteristics of actions, calling them form, relying on names, concepts, and terms, and completely imputing them as the nature of form, this is the completely imputed form. Maitreya, for those things that are the characteristics of actions, from feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness up to the Buddha-dharmas, relying on names, concepts, designations, and terms, and completely imputing them as the nature of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, up to the nature of the Buddha-dharmas, these are the completely imputed feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, up to the Buddha-dharmas, these are the completely imputed Buddha-dharmas. For those things that are the characteristics of actions, relying on the discriminating, the discriminating that merely abides in the nature of reality, and clearly proclaiming, this is the form of names, concepts, designations, and terms. Feeling and perception.
