And the supernormal knowledges, and all the samādhis, and all the doors of dhāraṇī are practiced, and the ten powers of the Thus-gone One, and the four fearlessnesses, and the four analytical knowledges, and the great loving-kindness, and the great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha are practiced, and when the path to awakening is completely perfected, and the Buddha-field is completely purified, then all sentient beings are completely ripened, and no sentient being is fixated upon, and no such sentient being who should be tamed is fixated upon. The Twenty-five Thousand Stanza Perfection of Wisdom, the Seventy-second Chapter. Then, the venerable Subhūti said this to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, by which path to awakening does a bodhisattva mahāsattva cause all sentient beings to be completely ripened and the Buddha-field to be completely purified? What is the path to awakening of a bodhisattva mahāsattva?" The Blessed One said: "Subhūti, here, a bodhisattva mahāsattva, from the time of first generating the mind, takes hold of and practices the perfection of generosity, and practices the perfection of ethical discipline, and the perfection of patience, and the perfection of diligence, and the perfection of meditative stabilization, and the perfection of wisdom. He practices emptiness of the internal, he practices emptiness of the external, he practices emptiness of the internal and external, he practices up to emptiness of the nature of non-things. The four mindfulnesses, and the four correct abandonments, and the four legs of magical power, and the five faculties, and the five powers, and the seven branches of awakening, and the eightfold noble path are practiced. The four noble truths, and the four dhyānas, and the four immeasurables, and the four formless absorptions, and the eight liberations, and the nine serial abidings, and emptiness, and signlessness, and wishlessness, and the five supernormal knowledges, and all the samādhis, and all the doors of dhāraṇī are practiced.

I possess the four pure knowledges, great loving-kindness, and great compassion, practice the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and completely ripen sentient beings. I also completely purify the Buddha-field. The question: Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the perfection of giving and completely ripen sentient beings? The Blessed One replied: Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the perfection of wisdom, he completely gives to sentient beings. After giving, he instructs and teaches them thus: "Noble sons, do not grasp at giving. Because grasping at giving, once the body manifests and is accomplished, one will experience much suffering. Therefore, do not accomplish such a body." Noble sons, in ultimate truth, there is neither giving, nor the fruit of giving, nor a giver of giving, nor a receiver. Because all these phenomena are empty of inherent existence. A phenomenon that is empty of inherent existence has no receiver. Emptiness of inherent existence itself is ungraspable. Thus he instructs and teaches. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the perfection of giving, he completely gives to sentient beings in this way, yet he does not fixate on giving, he does not fixate on the giver of giving, he does not fixate on the receiver. This is the perfection of non-fixation, this is how the perfection of giving is. Because he does not fixate on these three phenomena, he connects sentient beings with the fruit of stream-entry, with the fruit of once-returning, the fruit of non-returning, and with Arhatship. He connects them with self-awakening, and with unsurpassed, perfect, complete awakening. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the perfection of giving, he completely ripens sentient beings, and he himself completely gives. Furthermore, he truly encourages others to give, and praises the virtues of giving. If other sentient beings give
