These are spoken by the Pratyekabuddhas themselves. These are spoken by those who know the aspects of the path. These are spoken by the Omniscient Ones, and there should be no pride in this. Why is that? Because, for them, the very nature by which the nature to be spoken of is, the diligence arising from the mind, although manifest, benefits sentient beings, but those sentient beings are also not perceived. They also perfect the perfection of diligence, but that perfection of diligence is also not perceived. They also perfect the qualities of the Buddhas, but those qualities of the Buddhas are also not perceived. They also purify the Buddha-fields, but those Buddha-fields are also not perceived. Therefore, possessing such diligence of mind, although they completely uphold all virtuous qualities, they are not attached to them, and they benefit those who are without attachment, going from Buddha-field to Buddha-field. Going from world-realm to world-realm, they transform themselves with whatever miracles and wonders they wish to manifest, raining down flowers, spreading fragrance, making the sound of thunder, making the sound of songs and musical instruments, shaking the earth, displaying light, or transforming themselves by displaying the world-realm of the seven precious jewels, and whatever and wherever it becomes beneficial to sentient beings, they emanate from their own bodies, scattering some things for the benefit of sentient beings. They scatter some fragrant odors. They perform some great sacrifices without killing. They liberate some infinite sentient beings from the wrong path, preventing them from killing. They completely liberate them from taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, divisive speech, harsh speech, lying, idle chatter, covetousness, malice, and wrong views. To some they benefit with generosity, to some they benefit with discipline, and for the benefit of others, they completely give away limbs and minor parts.

For the sake of (sentient beings), one completely abandons sons and wives. For the sake of (sentient beings), one completely abandons royal power. For the sake of (sentient beings), one completely abandons oneself. In this way, by whatever means that benefits sentient beings, one benefits sentient beings by that means. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with the mind's diligence towards all dharmas being without characteristics, without action, without object, without arising, and without manifest intention, one perfects the Perfection of Diligence. Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, when practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, perfect the Perfection of Dhyana (meditative concentration) with respect to all dharmas being without characteristics, without action, without object, without arising, and without manifest intention? Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with a mind free from characteristics towards all dharmas being without characteristics, without action, without object, without arising, and without manifest intention, from the initial generation of the mind, abiding in the Perfection of Dhyana, one perfects all other Dhyanas except for the Tathagata's Dhyana. He dwells having cultivated the first Dhyana, which is secluded from desires, secluded from sinful and unwholesome dharmas, with initial application and sustained application, born of seclusion, with joy and bliss. He dwells having cultivated the second Dhyana, the third Dhyana, and the fourth Dhyana. He fills and cultivates the entire world with a mind of loving-kindness, a mind of compassion, a mind of joy, and a mind of equanimity, until the realm of dharma is boundless and the sky is endless. He (dwells in) the Sphere of Limitless Space, the Sphere of Limitless Consciousness, the Sphere of Nothingness, and the Sphere of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception.

And he draws near to and abides in the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. He abides in that perfection of concentration, and enters into and arises from the eight liberations in accordance with and not in accordance with the order. He draws near to and abides in the nine successive absorptions, and the concentration on emptiness, the concentration on signlessness, and the concentration on wishlessness. He draws near to and abides in the uninterrupted concentration. He draws near to and abides in the concentration like lightning, the correct concentration, and the concentration like a diamond. He abides in this perfection of concentration, and with the wisdom of knowing the aspects of the path, he includes all concentrations within the scope of knowing the aspects of the path, and transcends the white earth. Having transcended the white earth, he transcends the lineage ground, the eighth ground, the seeing ground, the thinned ground, the ground free from desire, the ground of having done, and the ground of the solitary Buddha. Having transcended the solitary Buddha, he enters the Bodhisattva path without hindrance. Having entered the Bodhisattva path without hindrance, he perfects the Buddha ground. Therefore, until he obtains the wisdom of all aspects, he does not become satisfied with the intermediate fruit, but abides in this perfection of concentration, perfects all the superknowledges, serves the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and goes from Buddha-field to Buddha-field, serving those Bhagavat. And with whatever roots of virtue he has towards those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, he generates the roots of virtue that will make the Buddha-field completely pure, and that will make sentient beings completely mature, and goes from world to world, benefiting sentient beings. Among them, some sentient beings are gathered completely by generosity, some are gathered completely by ethics, some are gathered completely by concentration, and some are gathered completely by wisdom.
