When a great Bodhisattva engages in the Prajñāpāramitā, they give alms with a mind free from characteristics, without attachment to characteristics, actions, objects, or manifestations, regarding all phenomena as without characteristics. They give away food, drink, clothing, vehicles, bedding, dwellings, houses, wealth, grain, jewels, gold, precious stones, pearls, lapis lazuli, conches, cowries, coral, amber, silver, and any other human necessities, even wives, children, sons, daughters, inner and outer limbs, and even kingdoms adorned with ornaments, giving them all to those who beg. If someone comes before them and says, "Your giving is like this, so useless, so impermanent, what is the use of what you have given away?" Then, when that Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva is engaged in the Prajñāpāramitā, they should think, "Even though these beings say, 'Your giving is like this, so useless, so impermanent, what is the use of what you have given away?' Nevertheless, I shall give, I shall not refrain from giving." They share that giving with all sentient beings and dedicate it to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. In whatever way they dedicate it, they do not truly see the characteristics of the giver, the receiver, the gift, the one who gives, what is given, who gives what, what is dedicated, to whom it is dedicated, the one who dedicates, who dedicates what, what is dedicated, or to whom it is dedicated. Thus, they dedicate it, and they do not truly see the object of what is given, for whom it is given, or the dedication to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Why is that? Because all things are empty by the emptiness of the internal, empty by the emptiness of the external, empty by the emptiness of the internal and external, the emptiness of the nature of non-things, even to...

is emptiness. If he thus truly sees all dharmas as empty, then what will be dedicated? To where will it be dedicated? By whom will it be dedicated? Such a dedication is a supreme dedication, a non-toxic dedication, a dedication of the realm of dharma. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with respect to all dharmas that are without characteristics, without action, without object, without arising, and without manifestation, he brings beings to complete maturity, adorns the Buddha-fields, and perfects the Perfection of Giving, the Perfection of Morality, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Meditation, and the Perfection of Wisdom. He perfects all emptinesses, the thirty-seven wings of enlightenment, the noble truths, meditations, immeasurables, formless absorptions, liberations, the successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, superknowledges, samadhis, dharani gates, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the unshared dharmas of the Buddhas. Although he initially perfects the Perfection of Giving, he does not cling to the ripening of karma; however, merely by thinking of it, the necessary things are accomplished. Subhuti, just as the gods of Paranirmitavasavartin have all their perfect enjoyments arise merely by thinking of them. Subhuti, likewise, all the perfect enjoyments of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva also arise merely by thinking of them. With those enjoyments, he also serves the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and satisfies the world, including gods, humans, and asuras. He, with giving

Perfectly gathered by that Prajñāpāramitā, the three vehicles are well established by skillful means. Subhuti, thus, when a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva practices the Prajñāpāramitā, in the absence of characteristics, absence of action, absence of object, absence of arising, and absence of manifestation of all dharmas, he perfects the perfection of generosity. Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva, when practicing the Prajñāpāramitā, in the absence of characteristics, absence of action, absence of object, absence of arising, and absence of manifestation of all dharmas, take hold of the first thought with a mind free from characteristics, and perfect the perfection of morality? Subhuti, in this case, when a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva practices the Prajñāpāramitā, in the absence of characteristics, absence of action, absence of object, absence of arising, and absence of manifestation of all dharmas, he takes hold of the first thought with a mind free from characteristics, and perfects the perfection of morality. That noble, undefiled morality, which is included in the path, is obtained by its very nature, and is excellently obtained. That morality is uncorrupted, unbroken, unmixed, without turbidity, undiminished, independent, utterly complete, and praised by the wise. That morality leads to form, or feeling, or perception, or formation, or consciousness, or the thirty-two marks of a great man, and the eighty minor marks, or a great and noble royal family, or a great and noble Brahmin family, or a great and noble householder family, or the gods of the four great kings, or the thirty-three gods, or the Yama gods, or the Tushita gods, or the Nirmanarati gods, or the Paranirmita-vasavartin gods, or the Brahma host, or the Brahma attendants, or the Great Brahma, or the gods of light, or the gods of limited light, or the gods of immeasurable light, or the gods of radiant light, or the gods of purity, or the gods of limited purity, or the gods of immeasurable purity, or the gods of pervasive purity, or the gods of great fruit, or
