Which are unassignable. Righteous abandonment, miraculous feet, faculties, powers, limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path are unassignable. The eighteen unmixed Buddha dharmas are unassignable. The unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment is unassignable. Conditioned, or unconditioned, the Dharma of the Hearers, or the Dharma of the Solitary Buddhas, or the Dharma of the Bodhisattvas, or even the Dharma of the Buddhas, all dharmas are non-dual. Asked: Blessed One, if all dharmas are unassignable, Blessed One, then why do sentient beings in hell exist? The birthplaces of animals, and the world of Yama exist? Gods and humans exist? Stream-enterers exist? Once-returners, non-returners, and Arhats exist? Solitary Buddhas exist? Bodhisattvas exist? Perfectly enlightened Buddhas exist? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Is there anything observable to assign as a sentient being? Replied: Blessed One, that is not so. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, if sentient beings are unobservable, then how can sentient beings be assigned to hell? The birthplaces of animals, or the world of Yama, or gods or humans, or stream-enterers, or once-returners, or non-returners, or Arhats, how can they be assigned? Bodhisattvas, or perfectly enlightened Buddhas, how can they be assigned? Subhuti, thus, when Bodhisattvas, great beings, practice the Perfection of Wisdom, they should train in all unassignable dharmas. Asked: Blessed One, then when Bodhisattvas, great beings, practice the Perfection of Wisdom, they should train in form, and train in feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, and train in the sense bases, elements, and dependent origination, and train in all the perfections, and train in all emptiness, and train in the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment.

Solpa. World Honored One, how should I train in the absence of manifest practice? The World Honored One said: By seeing all dharmas as empty of their own nature, one should train in the absence of manifest practice. Solpa. World Honored One, how should I view all dharmas as empty of their own nature? The World Honored One said: View form as empty of form. Feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, view consciousness as empty of consciousness. The sense bases, elements, and dependent origination, view dependent origination as empty of dependent origination. All perfections, all emptinesses, and the thirty-seven wings of enlightenment, view the wings of enlightenment as empty of the wings of enlightenment. The noble truths, meditative stabilizations, immeasurables, formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, superknowledges, samadhi, and the gateways of dharani, view the gateways of dharani as empty of the gateways of dharani. The ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, view the unshared qualities of a Buddha as empty of the unshared qualities of a Buddha. Up to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, view enlightenment as empty of enlightenment. Subhuti. Thus, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he should train in all dharmas as empty of their own nature. Solpa. World Honored One, if it is so that form is empty of form, feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness are empty of consciousness, and up to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment is empty of unsurpassed enlightenment, World Honored One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Perfection of Wisdom? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, non-practice is the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Solpa. World Honored One, why is there non-practice?
