And because the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine serial abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and extrasensory perception are immeasurable, the perfection of wisdom is immeasurable. Because the gates of meditative stabilization and retention are immeasurable, the perfection of wisdom is immeasurable. Because the ten powers of the Thus-Gone One, the four fearlessnesses, the four individual correct knowledges, and the eighteen unmixed qualities of a buddha are immeasurable, the perfection of wisdom is immeasurable. Because even the all-knowingness is immeasurable, the perfection of wisdom is immeasurable. Asked: Blessed One, how does a bodhisattva mahasattva practice the perfection of wisdom? The Blessed One said: Sharadvatiputra, when a bodhisattva mahasattva practices the perfection of wisdom, if he does not practice by regarding form as profound, then he practices the perfection of wisdom. If he does not practice by regarding feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness as profound, then he practices the perfection of wisdom. If he does not practice by regarding the sense fields, the elements, and dependent arising as profound, then he practices the perfection of wisdom. If he does not practice by regarding all the perfections, all emptiness, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment as profound, then he practices the perfection of wisdom. If he does not practice by regarding the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine serial abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and extrasensory perception as profound, then he practices the perfection of wisdom. If he does not practice by regarding the meditative stabilizations and the gates of retention as profound, then he practices the perfection of wisdom. If he does not practice by regarding the ten powers of the Thus-Gone One, the four fearlessnesses, the four individual correct knowledges, and the eighteen unmixed qualities of a buddha as profound

If one does not practice, then one is practicing in the Perfection of Wisdom. If one does not practice profundity up to the state of all-knowingness, then one is practicing in the Perfection of Wisdom. The Twenty-five Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom, Chapter Forty-two. What is the reason for this? Sharadvatiputra, whatever is the profundity of form, that is not form. Whatever is the profundity of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, that is not consciousness. Whatever is the profundity of the sense bases, elements, and dependent origination, that is not dependent origination. Whatever is the profundity of all the perfections, all emptinesses, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, that is not the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. Whatever is the profundity of the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine sequential abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and the superknowledges, that is not the superknowledges. Whatever is the profundity of the samadhis and the gateways of dharani, that is not the gateways of dharani. Whatever is the profundity of the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, that is not the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. Whatever is the profundity up to the state of all-knowingness, that is not the state of all-knowingness. Sharadvatiputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, if he does not practice by saying, "Form is difficult to fathom," then he is practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If he does not practice by saying, "Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are difficult to fathom," then he is practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If he does not practice by saying, "The sense bases, elements, and dependent origination are difficult to fathom," then he is practicing the Perfection of Wisdom.

Practices. If one does not practice in the saying, "All perfections and all emptiness, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment are unfathomable," then one practices in the Perfection of Wisdom. If one does not practice in the saying, "The noble truths and the meditations, and the immeasurables, and the formless absorptions, and the eight liberations, and the nine successive abidings, and emptiness, and signlessness, and wishlessness, and the superknowledges are unfathomable," then one practices in the Perfection of Wisdom. If one does not practice in the saying, "The samadhis and the doors of dharani are unfathomable," then one practices in the Perfection of Wisdom. If one does not practice in the saying, "The ten powers of the Tathagata and the four fearlessnesses, and the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha are unfathomable," then one practices in the Perfection of Wisdom. If one does not practice in the saying, "Even omniscience is unfathomable," then one practices in the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Sharadvatiputra, whatever is the unfathomable nature of form, that is not form. Whatever is the unfathomable nature of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, that is not consciousness. Whatever is the unfathomable nature of even omniscience, that is not omniscience. Sharadvatiputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if one does not practice in the saying, "Form is immeasurable," then one practices in the Perfection of Wisdom. If one does not practice in the saying, "Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are immeasurable," then one practices in the Perfection of Wisdom. If one does not practice in the saying, "The sense bases, the elements, and dependent origination are immeasurable," then one practices in the Perfection of Wisdom.
