There is no perception. There is no perception of whether the samadhis and the doors of dharanis arise or do not arise. There is no perception of whether the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great loving-kindness, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha arise or do not arise. There is no perception of whether the fruit of stream-entry arises or does not arise. There is no perception of whether the fruit of once-returning, the fruit of non-returning, and the state of an Arhat arise or do not arise. There is no perception of whether self-awakening arises or does not arise. There is no perception of whether unsurpassed, perfect and complete awakening arises or does not arise. I beseech you, Bhagavan, even if this profound Dharma is taught, it does not diminish; even if it is not taught, it does not diminish; even if it is taught, it does not increase; even if it is not taught, it does not increase. It is truly wonderful! The Bhagavan said: It is so, it is so. Subhuti, it is just so. Even if this profound Dharma is taught, it does not diminish; even if it is not taught, it does not diminish; even if it is taught, it does not increase; even if it is not taught, it does not increase. Subhuti, it is like this: for example, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly and completely awakened Buddha, dwells until the end of his life, and even if he speaks of the goodness or non-goodness of space, space does not increase by speaking of goodness, nor does it decrease by speaking of faults. Even if space is praised as good, it does not increase by becoming attached, and even if faults are criticized, it does not become angry. Subhuti, it is like this: for example, a person created by magic does not increase even if praised as good, nor does he decrease even if faults are criticized. Even if praised as good, he does not become attached, and even if faults are criticized, he does not become angry. Subhuti, in the same way, whatever the Dharma nature of all dharmas is, it is the same whether it is taught or not taught. I beseech you. Bhagavan, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom and teaches the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not become discouraged or distracted, and regarding the Wisdom

diligently striving in this perfection of wisdom, and not turning back from unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, is difficult to do. Why is that? Blessed One, for example, the bodhisattvas mahasattvas cultivate the perfection of wisdom, this is cultivating space. In space there is no form, no feeling, perception, formation, or consciousness. In space there are no sense bases, elements, or dependent origination. In space there is no perfection of generosity, no perfection of morality, perfection of patience, perfection of diligence, perfection of concentration, or perfection of wisdom. In space there is no emptiness of the internal, up to the emptiness of the self-nature of non-things. In space there are no mindfulnesses, no correct abandonments, no miraculous feet, no faculties, no powers, no limbs of enlightenment, no eightfold noble path. In space there are no noble truths, no meditations, no immeasurables, no formless absorptions, no eight liberations, no nine successive abidings, no emptiness, no signlessness, no wishlessness, no superknowledges. In space there are no Samadhis, no dharani gates. In space there are no ten powers of the Tathagata, no four fearlessnesses, no four analytical knowledges, no great love, no great compassion, no eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. In space there is no fruit of stream-enterer, no fruit of once-returner, no fruit of non-returner, no arhatship, no self-enlightenment. In space there is no unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Blessed One, those bodhisattvas mahasattvas who know this armor are worthy of reverence. Blessed One.

Those who don this armor strive for the sake of space, strive for effort, strive for diligence. World Honored One, those who don armor for the sake of sentient beings don armor to fully ripen space and to fully liberate it. World Honored One, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who don armor for the sake of Dharma like space are donning great armor. World Honored One, those who don armor for the sake of sentient beings don armor to bear the sky and space. World Honored One, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who truly enter into unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment for the sake of sentient beings have obtained great diligence. World Honored One, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who enter into unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment for the sake of sentient beings are donning great armor. World Honored One, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who manifestly and perfectly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment for the sake of Dharma like space are heroes donning armor that is inconceivable and incomparable. Why is that? World Honored One, if this three-thousandfold great thousand world realm were filled with many Tathagatas, like a reed bed, or a grove of light, or a sugarcane grove, or a bamboo grove, or a rice field, or a sesame field, and those Tathagatas taught the Dharma for a kalpa or more, and each Tathagata completely led countless sentient beings to Nirvana, World Honored One, the realm of sentient beings would neither decrease nor increase. Why is that? It is because there are no sentient beings and because of the solitude of sentient beings. Similarly, if in each of the ten directions, worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River were filled with many Tathagatas, like a reed bed, or a grove of light, or a sugarcane grove, or a bamboo grove, or a rice field, or a sesame field, they would be like that.
