Even setting aside such diligent exhortation, Kauśika, in each of the ten directions, as many sentient beings as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, if some son or daughter of good family were to exhort them to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, what do you think, Kauśika? Would the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly because of that? He replied, "Bhagavan, greatly! Sugata, greatly!" The Bhagavan said, "Kauśika, even more so, any son or daughter of good family who extensively speaks, demonstrates, explains, elucidates, distinguishes, clarifies, and correctly indicates this Perfection of Wisdom, which is endowed with meaning and letters, to others, and says this: 'Son of good family, you should hold this Perfection of Wisdom! Fully understand it! Recite it! Memorize it! Properly attend to it! Be diligent in the Perfection of Wisdom as it has been taught!' Son of good family, when you are diligent in the Perfection of Wisdom as it has been taught, son of good family, you will learn the Perfection of Wisdom. Son of good family, when you learn the Perfection of Wisdom, you will obtain the dharmas of omniscience. When you obtain the dharmas of omniscience, your cultivation of the Perfection of Wisdom will become even more complete. When your cultivation of the Perfection of Wisdom becomes even more complete, you will be exhorted to awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment.' Then, his merit will increase greatly. Why is that? Kauśika, from this arises the bodhisattva-mahasattvas who generate the first thought (of bodhicitta). Kauśika, furthermore, as many sentient beings as there are in Jambudvipa, if some son or daughter of good family were to establish them on the ground of non-retrogression, what do you think, Kauśika?

Then, would the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly because of that? They replied: Blessed One, it would increase greatly. Sugata, it would increase greatly. The Blessed One said: Kauśika, even more so, whichever son or daughter of good family extensively speaks, teaches, explains, analyzes, clarifies, and correctly instructs others about this Prajñāpāramitā, which is endowed with meaning and letters, saying: 'Son of good family, you should hold this Prajñāpāramitā, fully understand it, recite it, read it thoroughly, properly attend to it, and diligently practice the Prajñāpāramitā as it has been taught.' Son of good family, when you diligently practice the Prajñāpāramitā as it has been taught, son of good family, you will be learning the Prajñāpāramitā. Son of good family, when you are learning the Prajñāpāramitā, you will obtain the dharmas of all-knowingness. When you obtain the dharmas of all-knowingness, your cultivation of Prajñāpāramitā will become even more complete. When your cultivation of Prajñāpāramitā becomes even more complete, you will awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment.' If they instruct in this way, then their merit will increase greatly. Why is that? Kauśika, what arises from this is the irreversible ground for Bodhisattva Mahāsattvas. Kauśika, let alone establishing all beings in Jambudvipa on the irreversible ground, let alone the beings of the four great continents, let alone the beings filling a thousand worlds, let alone the beings of the middle two thousand worlds, let alone establishing all the beings of the great three thousand world system on the irreversible ground. Kauśika, in each of the ten directions, worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges,
