Those beings, however many there are, if a certain son or daughter of good family places them on the ground of non-retrogression, Kauśika, what do you think? Would the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly thereby? They replied: Blessed One, much so. Well-gone One, much so. The Blessed One said: Kauśika, even more so, whichever son or daughter of good family extensively speaks, teaches, explains, elucidates, analyzes, clarifies, and correctly instructs others about this Perfection of Wisdom, which is endowed with meaning and letters, saying: Come, son of good family, hold this Perfection of Wisdom! Fully understand it! Recite it! Memorize it! Apply your mind to it properly! Be diligent in the Perfection of Wisdom as it has been taught! Son of good family, when you are diligent in the Perfection of Wisdom as it has been taught, at that time, son of good family, you will be learning the Perfection of Wisdom. Son of good family, when you are learning the Perfection of Wisdom, at that time, you will obtain the dharmas of omniscience. When you obtain the dharmas of omniscience, at that time, you will awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. If they exhort in this way, then their merit will increase greatly. Why is that? Kauśika, the ground of non-retrogression for Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas arises from the Perfection of Wisdom. Kauśika, furthermore, however many beings there are in Jambudvipa, all of whom have correctly entered into unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, to those, a certain son or daughter of good family extensively speaks and teaches this Perfection of Wisdom, endowed with meaning and letters, and explains, elucidates, analyzes, and clarifies it, and correctly instructs them, saying: Come, son of good family, hold this Perfection of Wisdom!
