One does not see arising. One does not see ceasing, one does not see taking, one does not see abandoning, one does not see complete defilement, one does not see purification, one does not see adding, one does not see subtracting, one does not see diminishing, one does not see increasing. What is the reason for that? It is because, in this way, all-knowingness is without and unobservable by the nature of all-knowingness itself. Son of Sharadvati, if that is the case, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not learn because all dharmas are without arising, without ceasing, without taking, without abandoning, without complete defilement, without purification, without adding, without subtracting, without diminishing, and without increasing. One learns the Perfection of Wisdom in the manner of non-arising, and all-knowingness arises. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Venerable Sharadvatiputra: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, from where should one seek the Perfection of Wisdom of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas? Sharadvatiputra said: Lord of the Gods, the Perfection of Wisdom of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should be sought from the chapter of Subhuti. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, the noble Sharadvatiputra has said that the Perfection of Wisdom of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should be sought from the chapter of Subhuti; that is your power! That is your blessing! Subhuti said: Kausika, this is not my power, this is not my blessing. Indra said: Venerable Subhuti, then whose power is that? Whose blessing is that? Subhuti said: Kausika, that is the power of the Tathagata, that is the blessing of the Tathagata. Indra said: Venerable Subhuti, if all dharmas are without blessing, why is it said: This is the power of the Tathagata, this is the blessing of the Tathagata? To say so is different from the nature of dharmas that are without blessing.
