The root of the Bodhi tree of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva arises from the substance of gold, dwells in lapis lazuli, its branches are made of the nature of the seven jewels, and its flowers and leaves are transformed from all precious jewels. The fragrance and beautiful light of that tree fill the boundless world realms. This is the perfection of the adornment of the Bodhi tree of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. So what is the perfection of the complete perfection of all the qualities of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva? The Bodhisattva Mahasattva makes beings completely mature and pure, and the Buddha-field is pure. This is the perfection of the complete perfection of all the qualities of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. So what is it that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva abiding in the ten bhumis is called Tathagata? A Bodhisattva Mahasattva, who has perfected all the paramitas, as well as the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, the wisdom of all-knowingness, has abandoned all the afflictions that connect habitual tendencies, great compassion, and has also perfected all the Buddha-dharmas.
