And, individually and correctly knowing, great love and great compassion, and focusing on objects that are not mixed with the Buddha's teachings, generating views through the manner of focusing. Focusing until reaching complete nirvana, generating views through the manner of focusing. Therefore, venerable Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva will observe form, will observe feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, and will observe until complete nirvana. Therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices Prajnaparamita, through skillful means, in order to abandon those aspects of observation, he teaches the Dharma in a manner without focus. Then, venerable Subhuti said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, for what reason is one called a Bodhisattva Mahasattva? I also rejoice in that. The Bhagavan replied: Subhuti, generate joy! Subhuti asked: Bhagavan, regarding the mind of Bodhi, the unequal and equal mind, the mind that is not shared by all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, there is no attachment to such a mind. Therefore, one is called a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Why is that? Like this, the mind of all-knowingness is without outflows and does not belong to the realm of the three worlds. Like this, the mind of all-knowingness is without outflows, and there is no attachment to the mind that does not belong to the realm of the three worlds because of its nature of emptiness. Therefore, a Bodhisattva is counted among the great beings. Why is that? Like this, mind is not mind, and there is no attachment to that which is not mind. Then, venerable Sharadvatiputra said to venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, what is the unequal and equal mind of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and the mind that is not shared by all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas? Subhuti said: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, here a Bodhi-

That Bodhisattva Mahasattva, from the time of first generating the mind, does not truly see the arising of any dharma; does not truly see the cessation, increase, decrease, coming, going, complete affliction, and complete purification. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, for that which has no arising, no cessation, no increase, no decrease, no coming, no going, no complete affliction, and no complete purification, there is no mind of a Hearer, no mind of a Solitary Buddha, no mind of a Bodhisattva, no mind of a Fully Awakened Buddha. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, this is the uncommon and common mind of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, which is not shared by all Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Said: Venerable Subhuti, you say that the mind of all-knowingness is without outflows and is uncontained, and that there is no attachment to such a mind, and that is so. Venerable Subhuti, therefore there is no attachment to form, no attachment to feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, and no attachment even to all-knowingness. Said: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, it is so, there is no attachment to form, no attachment to feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, no attachment to the sense bases, realms, and dependent origination, no attachment even to the factors of enlightenment, no attachment even to the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and no attachment even to all-knowingness. Said: Venerable Subhuti, you say that the mind of all-knowingness is also without outflows and is uncontained, and that is so. Venerable Subhuti, there is also no exhaustion there, because the minds of individual ordinary beings are empty in nature, therefore they are without outflows and are uncontained. The minds of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and the
