Furthermore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should possess an unwavering intention. What is the unwavering intention of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva? It is to contemplate being endowed with all aspects of knowledge and not to become arrogant because of it. This is the unwavering intention of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. That mind transforms by not distinguishing the ultimate meaning of all sentient beings. Furthermore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should generate a mind of benefit and happiness for all sentient beings. What is the mind of benefit and happiness of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva? It is to protect all sentient beings, not to abandon all sentient beings, and not to become arrogant because of it. This, O noble son, is the mind of benefit and happiness of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, abiding in which, one acts by not distinguishing the ultimate meaning of the great multitude of sentient beings. Furthermore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should constantly and continuously desire the Dharma, should rejoice in the Dharma, should have faith in the Dharma, and should diligently practice the yoga of faith in the Dharma. What is the Dharma? It is that all dharmas are without distinction; this is called Dharma. What is desiring the Dharma? It is desiring and having faith in that Dharma; this is called desiring the Dharma. What is rejoicing in the Dharma? It is rejoicing and greatly rejoicing in that Dharma; this is called rejoicing in the Dharma. What is having faith in the Dharma? It is regarding that Dharma as a quality; this is called having faith in the Dharma. What is diligently practicing the yoga of faith in the Dharma? It is contemplating and repeatedly cultivating that very Dharma; this is called diligently practicing the yoga of faith in the Dharma. O noble son, thus, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, one should act by not distinguishing the ultimate meaning of the great multitude of sentient beings. Furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, one abides in inner emptiness, abides in outer emptiness, abides in inner-outer emptiness, and abides in the emptiness of the nature of non-things,

The great aggregate of sentient beings should be transformed into a definite excellence. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the Dharmas that are aspects of Enlightenment. He abides in the Noble Truths, the Dhyanas, the Immeasurables, the Formless Absorptions, the Eight Liberations, the Nine Successive Abidings, Emptiness, Signlessness, Wishlessness, the Superknowledges, the Samadhis, the Dharani Gates, the Ten Powers of the Tathagata, the Fearlessnesses, the Separate Exact Knowledges, Great Love, Great Compassion, and even the Eighteen Unshared Dharmas of the Buddha. He should transform the great aggregate of sentient beings into a definite excellence in a way that does not focus on them. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the Heroic Progress Samadhi. He abides in the Samadhi that is as unattached as the sky, liberated and unobstructed. He should transform the great aggregate of sentient beings into a definite excellence in a way that does not focus on them. Subhuti, abiding in those Dharmas, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom makes the great aggregate of sentient beings a definite excellence. Therefore, he is called a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Then, the Venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, for what reason is this called a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva? I also feel joy." The Blessed One said: "Sharadvatiputra, let joy arise." Sharadvatiputra asked: "Blessed One, regarding the view of self, the view of sentient beings, the view of life, the view of a person, the nourisher, the individual, the powerful one, the lord of power, the agent, the feeler, the knower, the seer, the view of annihilation, the view of permanence, the view of existence, the view of non-existence, the view of aggregates, the view of elements,

And viewing the sources, and viewing dependent arising, and viewing the perfections, and viewing the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, and viewing up to the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha, and viewing the maturation of sentient beings, and viewing the purification of the Buddha-field, and viewing enlightenment, and viewing the Buddha, and viewing the Dharma, and viewing the Sangha, and viewing the turning of the wheel of Dharma, and viewing complete nirvana, in order to utterly abandon them, even though teaching the Dharma to sentient beings, it is done in a way that does not fixate on them. For that reason, they are called Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Then, the venerable Subhuti said this to the venerable son of Sharadvati: "Venerable son of Sharadvati, why is it that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva views form? Views feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness? Views up to nirvana?" He said: "Venerable Subhuti, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, while practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, due to unskillful means, fixates on form and generates viewing in a way that fixates. Fixates on feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, and generates viewing in a way that fixates. Fixates on the sources, elements, and dependent arising, and generates viewing in a way that fixates. Fixates on the perfections and all emptiness, as well as the mindfulnesses, the right abandonments, the miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, and the formless absorptions, and generates viewing in a way that fixates. Fixates on liberation and the nine successive abidings, as well as emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samadhi, the doors of dharani, the powers of the Tathagata, and fearlessness.
