Will it become? He replied: Blessed One, that will not become. For what reason is that? Blessed One, it is like this, a dream is the nature of non-existence of things, and the nature of non-existence of things is without an object. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Like an illusion, like an echo, like an eye disease, like a moon in water, like a mirage, like an emanation, these five aggregates, having trained in the perfection of wisdom, will they become all-knowing? He replied: Blessed One, that will not become. For what reason is that? Blessed One, it is like this, an illusion is the nature of non-existence of things, an echo is the nature of non-existence of things, an eye disease is the nature of non-existence of things, a moon in water is the nature of non-existence of things, a mirage is the nature of non-existence of things, an emanation is the nature of non-existence of things, and the nature of non-existence of things is without an object. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is like this, form is like a dream, feeling is like a dream, perception is like a dream, formation is like a dream, consciousness is like a dream, whatever consciousness is, that is the six senses, that is the five aggregates.

Form is like a mirage. Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are like a mirage. Whatever is consciousness is the six senses. That is the five aggregates. Subhuti, form is like an illusion. Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are like an illusion. Whatever is consciousness is the six senses. That is the five aggregates. Those are invisible because of the emptiness of the internal. They are invisible because of the emptiness between the nature of non-things. Question: World Honored One, if that is so, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly entered the Great Vehicle hears this teaching, will he not be afraid, frightened, or terrified? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva has newly entered the Great Vehicle and is not skilled in the means of the Perfection of Wisdom, and has not come into the hands of a virtuous friend, he will be afraid, frightened, and terrified. Question: World Honored One, what is the skillful means of practicing the Perfection of Wisdom by which a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is not afraid, frightened, or terrified when he hears this teaching? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he contemplates with a mind endowed with all-knowingness that form is impermanent, but that is invisible. He contemplates that feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are impermanent, but that is invisible. Subhuti, that is the skillful means by which a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom. Subhuti, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he contemplates with a mind endowed with all-knowingness that form is suffering, but that is invisible. He contemplates that feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are suffering, but that is invisible. He contemplates with a mind endowed with all-knowingness that form is without self
