Having gone to where I, the perfectly complete Buddha, the Glory of No Sorrow, was, and having arrived, I said this to the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Glory of No Sorrow: "Blessed One, what is the cause and what is the condition for such a great light to appear in the world, for such a great earthquake to occur, and for such a Tathagata's body to be present?" After saying this, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Glory of No Sorrow, spoke these words to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva No Sorrow: "Son of good family, from here to the north, after passing as many world realms as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, there is a world realm called Saha. There, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha, named Shakyamuni, resides and teaches. He teaches the Prajnaparamita to the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. This is his power, and it is like that." Do you live in comfort? Asking thus, these golden lotuses with a thousand petals are also offered by the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Glory of No Sorrow, for the purpose of making offerings to the Blessed One. Do this, and scatter these lotuses. Son of good family, act with mindfulness in that Buddha-field. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattvas, the great beings born in that world-realm, are difficult to please. There, one might fall. Then, the Bodhisattva, the great being Free from Sorrow, took those golden lotuses with a thousand petals from the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, the Glory of No Sorrow, and accompanied by many hundreds of thousands of kotis of Bodhisattvas in the form of householders, renunciants, boys and girls, disappeared from that Buddha-field. To all the Blessed Ones, the Buddhas, who reside and care for beings in the southern direction, he made offerings, respect, veneration, and worship with flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, unguents, powders, garments, ornaments, umbrellas, banners, and flags. Through the great miraculous power of the Bodhisattva and the great strength of the Bodhisattva, he went to where the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, Shakyamuni was, and bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, the Bodhisattva, the great being Free from Sorrow, said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, the Glory of No Sorrow, does the Blessed One have no illness? Shakyamuni Buddha, having taken those lotuses, scattered them towards the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, in the southern world systems as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. Then, those lotuses extensively pervaded all those world systems, and many Tathagata bodies resided on those lotuses, teaching the Dharma, starting from these six perfections. Whichever sentient beings heard the Dharma being taught, all of them were certain to attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Bodhisattvas, whether householders, renunciates, or those existing in the form of young boys and girls, also, each with their own roots of virtue, served, revered, respected, and made offerings to the Bhagavat, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha Shakyamuni, and sat down on one side. Then, to the west, beyond all the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, there exists a world system called 'Near Peace,' where the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha Jewel Light resides and teaches, and he is truly teaching this Prajnaparamita to the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Then, in that world system, there was a Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Conduct Intelligence, who, having seen that great light, that great earthquake, and that Tathagata body that was impossible to fully behold, went to where the Bhagavat, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha Jewel Light was, and having arrived, he spoke to the Bhagavat Tathagata Jewel Light, saying: Bhagavat, such a great light appearing in the world, and such a great earthquake, and such a Tathagata body appearing, what is the cause, what is the reason? After speaking thus, the Bhagavat Jewel Light spoke to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Conduct Intelligence, saying: Son of good family!
