The result of ripening is that sentient beings fall into hell, or are born as animals, or enter the realm of Yama. If you fall into the three lower realms, we will not be able to save you either, let alone save others? Therefore, you should not give even the slightest opportunity to a distracted mind. Lest you become regretful later! Thus he teaches the Dharma. To those sentient beings who have wicked wisdom, he teaches the Dharma thus: O men, wicked wisdom is suffering, and with wicked wisdom one cannot even accomplish one's own benefit, let alone the benefit of others? The result of the ripening of wicked wisdom is that sentient beings fall into hell, or are born as animals, or enter the realm of Yama. Therefore, you should not give even the slightest opportunity to a mind of wicked wisdom. Lest you become regretful later! Thus he teaches the Dharma. Those who have the practice of desire are applied to the unattractive. Those who have the practice of hatred are applied to love. Those who have the practice of delusion are applied to dependent origination. Those who have entered the wrong path are applied to the right path, that is, the path of the Hearers, or the path of the Solitary Buddhas, or the path of the Buddhas, and to them he teaches the Dharma thus: Those dharmas to which you are attached are empty by their very nature, and one cannot be attached to dharmas that are empty by their very nature, for there is no attachment to emptiness. Thus he teaches the Dharma. Subhuti, thus, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the superknowledges and works for the benefit of sentient beings. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva cannot teach the Dharma to sentient beings without abiding in the superknowledges, nor can he lead sentient beings who have gone astray onto the path. Subhuti, for example, a bird without wings cannot fly in the sky. Subhuti, likewise, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not abide in the superknowledges,

Therefore, one cannot teach the Dharma to sentient beings. Subhuti, therefore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he should manifest the superknowledges. Those who have manifested the superknowledges make happy whatever sentient beings delight in doing. With his divine eye, he sees world realms to the east as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, and he also sees how many sentient beings are born in them. Having seen this, he goes to those realms by means of his miraculous power, and having understood the minds of those sentient beings with his mind, he teaches the Dharma in accordance with them, speaking of generosity, or speaking of morality, or speaking of patience, or speaking of diligence, or speaking of meditation, or speaking of wisdom, or speaking of the noble truths, or even speaking of dependent origination. With his divine eye, he sees world realms to the south as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, and he also sees how many sentient beings are born in them.
