If one cannot liberate oneself, what need is there to mention liberating others? Therefore, you should not give even the slightest opportunity to a lazy mind. Later, you will regret it, thus he teaches the Dharma. To all sentient beings who are distracted, he teaches the Dharma in this way: "O noble ones, a distracted mind is suffering. The maturation of a distracted mind is the realm of hell beings, the realm of animals, or the realm of Yama. If you fall into the three lower realms, we ourselves will not be able to liberate you, what need is there to mention liberating others? Therefore, you should not give even the slightest opportunity to a distracted mind. Later, you will regret it," thus he teaches the Dharma. To all sentient beings who possess corrupt wisdom, he teaches the Dharma in this way: "O noble ones, corrupt wisdom is suffering. Corrupt wisdom cannot even accomplish one's own benefit, what need is there to mention accomplishing the benefit of others? The maturation of corrupt wisdom is the realm of hell beings, the realm of animals, or the realm of Yama. Therefore, you should not give even the slightest opportunity to a mind of corrupt wisdom. Later, you will regret it," thus he teaches the Dharma. Those who engage in desirous conduct, apply them to ugliness. Those who engage in hateful conduct, apply them to loving-kindness. Those who engage in deluded conduct, apply them to dependent origination. Those who have entered a bad path, apply them to the correct path, whether it be the path of the Hearers, the path of the Solitary Buddhas, or the path of the Buddhas, and he teaches the Dharma in this way: "Whatever Dharma you are attached to, that Dharma is empty of inherent existence. One cannot be attached to Dharmas that are empty of inherent existence. There is no attachment to emptiness." Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the superknowledges and benefits sentient beings. He, with his divine eye, perfectly pure and unobstructed,

To those stingy sentient beings, he teaches the Dharma thus: Give alms! Poverty is suffering, and poverty cannot even accomplish one's own benefit, let alone benefit others. Therefore, you should give alms, and also make us happy, and also make others happy. Oppressed by poverty, eating flesh with flesh, unable to be liberated from the three lower realms, thus he teaches the Dharma. To those sentient beings with bad ethics, he teaches the Dharma thus: O gentlemen, bad ethics is suffering, and bad ethics cannot even accomplish one's own benefit, let alone benefit others. The ripening result of bad ethics is a hell being, or a birth place of animals, or the world of Yama. If you fall into the three lower realms in this way, we will not be able to save you, let alone save others. Therefore, you should not give even the slightest opportunity to the mind of bad ethics, lest you regret it later, thus he teaches the Dharma. Then he taught the Dharma to them in this way: Like this, do not harbor harmful thoughts towards one another. If the mind is filled with anger, no virtuous Dharma will arise. Therefore, if you are filled with anger towards each other, there will be beings who are born in hell, or reborn as animals, or fall into the realm of Yama. Therefore, you should not give even the slightest opportunity to a mind of anger. You will regret it later, thus he taught the Dharma. To all those lazy beings, he taught the Dharma in this way: Hey, gentlemen, laziness is suffering. A lazy person cannot even do his own things, let alone the things of others? The result of laziness is falling into hell, or being reborn as an animal, or falling into the realm of Yama. If you fall into the three lower realms, we ourselves will not be able to save ourselves, let alone save others? Therefore, you should not give even the slightest opportunity to a mind of laziness.
