The perfections of wisdom are provisions. Samādhis are provisions. The doors of dhāraṇīs are provisions. The powers of the Thus-Gone Ones are provisions. The fearlessnesses are provisions. The separate correct knowledges are provisions. Great love is a provision. Great compassion is a provision. The unmixed qualities of the Buddhas are provisions. These are provisions; with these provisions, beings are completely gathered, and gradually, with the Hearer Vehicle, or the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, or the Great Vehicle, or these three vehicles, they are completely liberated from suffering. Subhūti, thus, a bodhisattva mahāsattva abides in the perfection of vigor, and with the perfection of generosity, he completely gathers beings. Subhūti, how does a bodhisattva mahāsattva practice in the perfection of vigor, and how does he tame beings with the perfection of ethics? Subhūti, here, a bodhisattva mahāsattva abides in the perfection of vigor, and says to beings, 'Come here! Sons of good family, guard your ethics! I will make you not lack for food, drink, clothing, vehicles, bedding, flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, ointments, houses, wealth, grain, jewels, pearls, beryl, conch shells, coral, gold, silver, human necessities, and whatever else is needed.' If you, being impoverished, were to engage in bad ethics, I will make you not lack for food, drink, clothing, vehicles, bedding, flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, ointments, houses, wealth, grain, jewels, pearls, beryl, conch shells, coral, gold, silver, human necessities, and whatever else, even the seven precious things. You abide in the ethics of vows, and gradually, with the Hearer Vehicle, or the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, or all aspects

May you reach the end of suffering by the vehicle you know, or by those three vehicles. That Bodhisattva-Mahasattva himself also keeps the precepts, and also encourages others to practice the precepts, proclaims the virtues of the precepts, and rejoices in harmony by proclaiming the virtues of those other beings who keep the precepts. Thus, that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva causes those beings to practice the precepts in this way, establishes them well in the precepts, and gradually liberates them completely from suffering by the three vehicles. Subhuti, thus the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in the perfection of diligence, and gathers all beings by the perfection of discipline. The Hundred Thousand Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom, the Seventeenth Chapter. Subhuti, how does the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practice the perfection of diligence, and cause beings to practice the perfection of patience? Subhuti, here, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the perfection of diligence, and if he sees any beings who generate anger and harmful thoughts, he says to them: Good sons, for what reason do you generate harmful thoughts? Take from me whatever you lack and generate harmful thoughts! I will make you not lack food, drink, clothing, vehicles, bedding, flowers, incense, fragrance, garlands, ointments, houses, wealth, grain, jewels, pearls, lapis lazuli, conch shells, agate, coral, gold, silver, human enjoyments, and whatever else is needed. Please extinguish anger and harmful thoughts! Thus, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the perfection of diligence, and causes those beings to practice patience, saying: Whatever causes you to generate anger is without essence, there is no substance in it. That anger is not real, but is completely imputed, for what thing
