The Bodhisattva Mahasattva, abiding in the perfection of patience, says to sentient beings: 'Come here, sons of good family, keep the precepts! I will make you not lack food, drink, clothing, vehicles, bedding, flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, unguents, houses, wealth, grain, jewels, pearls, vaidurya, conches, coral, gold, silver, human necessities, and any kind of equipment. If you, because of poverty, engage in bad conduct, I will make you not lack food, drink, clothing, vehicles, bedding, flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, unguents, houses, wealth, grain, jewels, pearls, vaidurya, conches, coral, gold, silver, human necessities, and any kind of equipment, even the seven precious things. Abide in the precepts of discipline, and gradually, by the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, or the Vehicle of Omniscience, or by these three vehicles, reach the end of suffering!' That Bodhisattva Mahasattva himself also keeps the precepts, and also encourages others to engage in the precepts, speaks of the virtues of the precepts, and rejoices in the virtues of other sentient beings who keep the precepts. Thus, that Bodhisattva Mahasattva encourages those sentient beings to engage in the precepts, and firmly establishes them in the precepts, gradually liberating them completely from suffering by the three vehicles. Subhuti, thus the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, abiding in the perfection of patience, gathers sentient beings completely by the perfection of discipline. Subhuti, how does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the perfection of patience, and how does he encourage sentient beings to engage in the perfection of patience? Subhuti, here, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, abiding in the perfection of patience, towards any angry sentient being

And, if they see those who harbor malice, they should say to them: "Noble sons, for what reason do you harbor malice? Whatever one is impoverished and harbors malice for, take that from me. I will make you not feel impoverished in terms of food, drink, clothing, vehicles, bedding, flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, ointments, houses, wealth, grain, jewels, pearls, lapis lazuli, conch shells, realgar, coral, gold, silver, human needs, and whatever items are needed. Stop anger and malice." In this way, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in the perfection of patience and encourages those beings to practice patience, saying: "Whatever causes you to generate anger is meaningless, there is no substance in it. Anger is an unreal imputation. For what thing do you fight, bear grudges, and harbor malice? Like this, fighting, bearing grudges, harboring malice, striking with sticks, harming with weapons, and even attacking each other's lives, but that thing itself has no nature of substance. Even so, you are still confused by unreal imputations, and beings will fall into hell. They will fall into the animal realm. They will fall into the realm of Yama. In other evil destinies, you will also experience unbearable suffering, feeling hot, rough, and unpleasant sensations. Noble men, for the sake of a dharma that has no substance, the karma you have accumulated will not even allow you to obtain a human body, let alone encounter a Buddha. Do not accumulate such karma. Friends, the appearance of a Buddha is rare. Obtaining a human body is rare. Obtaining leisure and endowments is rare. Liberation from samsara is rare. Since this is the case, do not let this opportunity pass by without meaning. Do not become without leisure, do not become irreparable!" Thus, they should say to them.
