In the world realms of the lower direction, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas teach the Dharma to the gods of the Four Great Kings, as well as to the gods of the Thirty-three, Yama, Tushita, Nirmanarati, and Paranirmitavasavartin heavens. Those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, those sons of the gods, having heard that Dharma, see those who have completely passed into Nirvana, are passing into Nirvana, and will pass into Nirvana in sequence through the three vehicles. Subhuti, to those sons of the gods who are mostly intoxicated by the five desirable qualities, he made those palaces appear to be burning, and knowing that they were weary, he said this: Friends, all conditioned phenomena are impermanent, all conditioned phenomena are suffering, all conditioned phenomena are without self, all conditioned phenomena are unstable, all conditioned phenomena are unreliable, all conditioned phenomena are of the nature of change. Who would be content to dwell on conditioned phenomena? Subhuti, I also, from here, with the Buddha's eye, observed the world, and in the world realms of the upper direction, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas teach the Dharma to the gods of the Four Great Kings, as well as to the gods of the Thirty-three, Yama, Tushita, Nirmanarati, and Paranirmitavasavartin heavens.

If it is the nature of change, then who would be content and abide in the conditioned phenomena and know how to teach the Dharma? Shariputra, I, from here, with the Buddha's eye, observe the world. In the eastern world, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, for those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, and those beings who are particularly attached to the view of cessation, (I say:) "Friends, what view do you generate towards the emptiness of all dharmas? What view do you generate towards all dharmas being merely accumulation and dross?" I see them freed from these forms of view. Shariputra, in this way, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas abide in great compassion and teach the Dharma to beings. Shariputra, this is very rare, it is the wondrous Dharma of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. Shariputra, I, from here, with the Buddha's eye, observe the world. In the southern world, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, for those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, and those beings who are particularly attached to the view of cessation, (I say:) "Friends, what view do you generate towards the emptiness of all dharmas?

These are the wonderful dharmas of the great Bodhisattvas! Subhuti, again, from here, with the Buddha's eye, I observe the world, and in the northern world realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, to those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who are attached to the view of purity, (I say:) "Friends, what view do you generate regarding the emptiness of all dharmas? What view do you generate regarding all dharmas being merely accumulation and husk?" I see them being separated from these views. Subhuti, thus the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas abide in great compassion and teach the Dharma to sentient beings. Subhuti, this is very rare, it is the wonderful dharma of the great Bodhisattvas!
