does not abide. He does not abide in the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. He does not abide in the fruit of stream-entry. He does not abide in the fruit of once-returning. He does not abide in the fruit of non-returning. He does not abide in Arhatship itself. He does not abide in individual enlightenment. He does not abide in the knowledge of the aspects of the path. He does not abide in the knowledge of all aspects. Subhuti asked: For what reason, Blessed One, does he not abide even in the knowledge of all aspects? The Blessed One replied: Because there is no attachment, he does not abide in anything. And why is that? Because he does not truly see any such dharma in which he should be attached or in which he should abide. Subhuti, in that way, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should practice the Perfection of Wisdom with a practice of non-attachment and non-abiding. Furthermore, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva thinks to himself, "Such practice and such cultivation is the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom, is the cultivation of the Perfection of Wisdom. I practice the Perfection of Wisdom. I cultivate the Perfection of Wisdom," if he thinks in that way, he is far from the Perfection of Wisdom. He who is far from the Perfection of Wisdom is far from the Perfection of Dhyana. He is far from the Perfection of Effort. He is far from the Perfection of Patience. He is far from the Perfection of Morality. He is far from the Perfection of Giving. He is far from inner emptiness. He is far from outer emptiness. He is far from inner-outer emptiness. He is far from emptiness-emptiness. He is far from great emptiness. He is far from ultimate emptiness. He is far from conditioned emptiness.
