There is no awareness of past dharmas as past dharmas. There is no awareness of future dharmas as future dharmas. There is no awareness of presently arising dharmas as presently arising dharmas. Son of Sharadvati, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, skilled in means, practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not think, 'I should give a gift, I should give a gift to someone, I should give such and such a gift'; 'I should keep the precepts, I should keep such and such precepts'; 'I should cultivate patience, I should cultivate such and such patience'; 'I should exert effort, I should exert such and such effort'; 'I should enter into meditative concentration, I should enter into such and such meditative concentration'; 'I should cultivate wisdom, I should cultivate such and such wisdom'; 'I should generate merit, I should generate such and such merit, I should generate this much merit'; 'I should bring the Bodhisattva conduct to flawless completion, I should make the Buddha-field completely pure, I should bring sentient beings to complete maturity, I should attain omniscience.' Son of Sharadvati, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, skilled in means, practices the Perfection of Wisdom, all such discriminations are due to the emptiness of internal, the emptiness of external, the emptiness of both internal and external, the emptiness of emptiness, the great emptiness, the emptiness of the ultimate, the emptiness of the conditioned, the emptiness of the unconditioned, the emptiness beyond extremes, the emptiness of beginninglessness and endlessness, the emptiness of non-abandonment, the emptiness of self-nature, the emptiness of all dharmas, the emptiness of own-character, the emptiness of non-apprehension, the emptiness of non-entity, the emptiness of essence, and the emptiness of the essence of non-entity, because there is not, therefore there is not.

is the cause. That son of Sharadvati, the venerable one, is indeed the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, skillful in means, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, without attachment. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the venerable Subhuti: 'Venerable Subhuti, by what designation do sons or daughters of good family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle become attached?' After he said this, the venerable Subhuti said to the Lord of the Gods, Indra: 'Kaushika, here, sons and daughters of good family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle generate perception in their minds, generate perception in the Perfection of Giving, generate perception in the Perfection of Ethics, generate perception in the Perfection of Patience, generate perception in the Perfection of Diligence, generate perception in the Perfection of Meditation, generate perception in the Perfection of Wisdom, generate perception in inner emptiness, generate perception in outer emptiness, generate perception in inner and outer emptiness, generate perception in emptiness of emptiness, generate perception in great emptiness, generate perception in ultimate emptiness, generate perception in conditioned emptiness, generate perception in unconditioned emptiness, generate perception in emptiness beyond extremes, generate perception in emptiness without beginning or end, generate perception in emptiness of abandonment, generate perception in emptiness of inherent nature, generate perception in emptiness of all phenomena, generate perception in emptiness of self-character, generate perception in emptiness of non-apprehension, generate perception in emptiness of non-entity, generate perception in emptiness of essence, generate perception in emptiness of non-entity essence, generate perception in the four mindfulnesses, generate perception in the four right abandonments, generate perception in the four legs of magical power, generate perception in the faculties, generate perception in the powers, generate perception in the limbs of enlightenment, generate perception in the eightfold noble path.'

To perceive the noble truths, to perceive the meditations, to perceive the immeasurables, to perceive the formless absorptions, to perceive the liberations, to perceive the successive abiding absorptions, to perceive the doors of liberation, emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, to perceive the superknowledges, to perceive the samadhis, to perceive the doors of dharani, to perceive the powers of the Tathagata, to perceive the fearlessnesses, to perceive the individual perfect knowledges, to perceive great love, to perceive great compassion, to perceive the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and to perceive the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. If one perceives the roots of virtue generated towards the Buddhas, now, having completely gathered those roots of virtue, focusing them into one, and dedicating and universally dedicating them to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, to also perceive that. Kauśika, these are the attachments of the sons and daughters of noble family of the Bodhisattva vehicle. If one becomes attached to that, one cannot practice the Prajnaparamita without attachment. Why is that? Because, Kauśika, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of form, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of feeling, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of perception, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of formation, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of consciousness, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of the eye, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of the ear, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of the nose, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of the tongue, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of the body, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of the mind, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of form, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of sound, they cannot completely dedicate the nature of smell.
