saying, how could it be? Kauśika, those sons or daughters of good family who teach in that way are not showing an image of the perfection of wisdom. Kauśika, furthermore, those sons and daughters of good family, to those sons and daughters of good family of the Mahāyāna Bodhisattva lineage, teach the perfection of wisdom in this way: Come, son of good family, cultivate the perfection of wisdom! Do not truly regard consciousness as impermanent. Why is that? Consciousness is empty by its very nature. Whatever the nature of consciousness is, that is without substance. Whatever is without substance, that is the perfection of wisdom. In that which is the perfection of wisdom, it is not seen that consciousness is permanent or impermanent. If consciousness itself is not there, how could permanence or impermanence be there? Kauśika, those sons or daughters of good family who teach in that way are not showing an image of the perfection of wisdom. Thus, the Prajñāpāramitā is taught: Come, son of a noble family, cultivate the Prajñāpāramitā! Do not truly follow and observe that the six sources are impermanent. Why is that? The six sources are empty by nature. Whatever is the nature of the six sources is without substance. Whatever is without substance is the Prajñāpāramitā. For that which is the Prajñāpāramitā, the six sources being permanent or impermanent is not seen. If the six sources themselves do not exist, how can the view of permanence or impermanence exist? Thus it is taught. Kauśika, those sons or daughters of a noble family who teach in this way do not show the image of the Prajñāpāramitā. Do not truly regard craving as impermanent. Why is that? Because craving is empty by its very nature. Whatever is the nature of craving is non-entity.
