Twenty-third, Chapter on the Relics, Part Two. Twenty-third, Chapter on the Relics, Part Two. The Hundred Thousand Prajñāpāramitā, Volume Six, First Chapter. Kauśika, let alone the sentient beings of a thousand worlds. Kauśika, if a son or daughter of good family were to establish as many sentient beings as there are in two thousand intermediate world realms in the four meditations, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, and the five superknowledges, what do you think, Kauśika? Would the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly because of that? He replied: Blessed One, it would be very much. Sugata, it would be very much. The Blessed One said: Kauśika, more than that, if a son or daughter of good family were to give this book of the Prajñāpāramitā to others for the purpose of reading, writing, and reciting it, the merit would increase even more. Why is that? Kauśika, it is because in this Prajñāpāramitā, the undefiled dharmas are extensively taught, and by learning them, sons or daughters of good family will enter the right path without error. They will enter, they will enter. They will attain the fruit of stream-entry. They will attain, they will attain. They will attain the fruit of once-returning. They will attain, they will attain. They will attain the fruit of non-returning. They will attain, they will attain. They will attain the state of an Arhat. They will attain, they will attain. Those of the Pratyekabuddha vehicle will attain self-enlightenment. They will attain, they will attain. Bodhisattva Mahāsattvas will also enter the Bodhisattva path without error. They will enter, they will enter. They will awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, they will realize Bodhi. They will realize, they will realize. Kauśika, what are those undefiled dharmas? They are as follows: the perfection of giving, the perfection of ethics, and the perfection of patience.
