Emptiness by its very nature. Whatever is the nature of the realm of consciousness is without substance. Whatever is without substance is the Perfection of Wisdom. In that Perfection of Wisdom, the realm of consciousness is not seen as either permanent or impermanent. If the realm of consciousness itself does not exist, how can there be permanence or impermanence? Kausika, those sons or daughters of good family who teach in this way do not show the image of the Perfection of Wisdom. Furthermore, Kausika, those sons and daughters of good family, those sons and daughters of good family who belong to the Bodhisattva Vehicle, teach the Perfection of Wisdom to them in this way: "Come, son of good family, cultivate the Perfection of Wisdom. Do not truly contemplate ignorance as impermanent." Why is that? Ignorance is empty by its very nature. Whatever is the nature of ignorance is without substance. Whatever is without substance is the Perfection of Wisdom. In that Perfection of Wisdom, ignorance is not seen as either permanent or impermanent. If ignorance itself does not exist, how can there be permanence or impermanence? Kausika, those sons and daughters of good family who teach in this way do not show the image of the Perfection of Wisdom. Furthermore, Kausika, those sons and daughters of good family, those sons and daughters of good family who belong to the Bodhisattva Vehicle, teach the Perfection of Wisdom to them in this way: "Come, son of good family, cultivate the Perfection of Wisdom.
